looking into the HyperStrada..

Hey all,
I'm really considering the HyperStrada vs the Hypermotard SP and I wanted to know if anyone on this board has faced the same issue? If so, would your care to share your rationale for choosing the Strada?

I really enjoy a mix of weekend overnight/weekend runs to experience the great twisities in the New England area and the Strada seems like a great compromise between getting to the destination and then being able to enjoy it when I get there.

I guess my biggest question is, at 6' 2" and 250 lbs fully geared, do you think the Strada's stock front suspension is up to semi-agressive apex strafing?

I've recently sold my BMW K1200S and I'm looking for something more comfortable for long haul destinations. At 55 years young, my knees just don't like being folded tightly for long periods of time especially with armored riding pants on.

I would really appreciate anyone who would care to share their experience on this matter.

Regards,

HI Tom and welcome,
The three bikes models are the same size once seated and feet on the pegs! the only difference is the ground clearance with the longer suspension travel on the SP (also the best suspension being olins and fully adjustable front & rear)
At 6'2 your not massive but all three bikes would fit you, it's us smaller chaps that struggle lol. Although the bike fits me sat on perfect it's touching the floor thats the issue, You might find being taller that your knees are slightly more bent, I'm sure a few of the taller guys on here will comment on their experiences.

The limiting factor is the seat on the HyperStrada will not let you stretch backward.

Forks are not adjustable on the Strada. I could not touch the ground very easy on the SP, so strada for me, but I miss those adjustable forks, have to be better than these!

Hi Tom, as far as the hyper performing in the twisties I'm coming from an R6 and most of my friends are still riding the 600s or litre bikes, I kept up to them no problem on our last semi aggressive ride like I would have on the R6, and I had much more fun doing it. At 6'0" and 175 without gear I'm not too much smaller then you but I am only 25.
After riding this bike and seeing how well it fits me in July I am going to take a shot at the iron butt 1000.

I'm 6'3" and frankly I think it is too small, significantly so.

That said, the only way to really find out is to go test it for your self.
