Maintaining exhaust header

Does anyone do anything to maintain the front exhaust header? What with all the salt & crap on the roads here mine is already looking the worse for wear. Not that it's gonna cause any real issues, but it kinda lets down the look of the bike.

Besides getting it coated (and wouldn't use wrap for obvious reasons) do any of your guys regularly clean/polish?

Thanks Zibbit. Is it something you find you have to/want to do often to maintain? I don't suppose there's anything one can use to coat it that won't just burn off the first time you run the engine up to temperature?

You gotta figure car exhaust manifolds have been coated for years.. Is it worth it.. IMO nope... I just give it a little scrub if I notice a buildup starting to happen.

Guys, use Autosol first before you do anything else! Its really good!

Thanks Bruder, I have some in the garage right now. Surely you'd still need to rub down with wire wool first though to get some of the gunk off? Or can you apply Autosol directly?
