Even though I'm playing with the idea of jumping ship here I was thinking it would be cool to see who is in my neighborhood.

It would be cool to be able to compare notes on mods and riding experiences in person. Maybe you people can help me keep up my mind about keeping or not keeping the Strada.

We could get some rides in when it gets nice out as well!!

I'm Doug and I live in Minneapolis.

I bought mine as the demo bike from Ducati of Minneapolis. I no longer live in the Twin Cities, now I'm in Winona. I'm sure I'll make plenty of trips further north in the spring, though.

Awesome!! I got mine at Ducati Minneapolis too. Any good roads down your way we should know about?

Hey Strider,

I live in Maplewood, work in Blaine and also purchased my hyper from Ducati Minneapolis. I have found that it is a great commuter bike. Also, I work bicycle road races and criteriums as a Moto Ref. 12 hour days in the saddle are no problem at all. Great gas mileage, huge grin factor, and comfort, what more could you ask of a sub $15k bike? My only real complaint is with passenger comfort.

Now that D.M. is closed, Moon Motorsports up in Monticello is the only shop I'll trust. Have had great service with them.

So, you are thinking about jumping ship - what are you looking to go to?

None on the MN side anyways, there are plenty of small highways on the WI side that are twisty and out in the middle of nowhere. :)

I second this. D.M. prices were largely inflated, and I think the owner was a prick. I'm not too sad to see them gone. However, being in Winona, Motoprimo is still my closest dealer at ~2 hours away. I'd still rather drive ~3 hours to Monticello to go to Moon.

I believe the Ducati master tech at Moon originally came from the old Delano motorsports, which is where I had my Monster's major services done. They have all my business for the services I cant/wont do at home. Motoprimo on the other hand, they just plain suck. The service department is a nightmare.

There were actually three owners of Ducati Minneapolis. The "money person" was...um special I've hear from many people. The two weren't to bad. I thought that the techs from DM went to Moon, maybe not all of them? It was nice to have a closer alternative to Motoprimo.

I'm looking at a Touringish Sports TOuringy bike. I have an RC-51 so I've got the sportyness covered. I want to do some longer tours, maybe visit the folks in AZ, make a trip to the Dragon, stuff like that. I'm sure the Hyper could do all of that but maybe I would want something else. I rode a friends Concours 1400 and damn that thing spoils you. I do have to say that I don't really want a I4 but for long distance they sure are smooth... My current list is as follows, all used of course. I'm partly trying to lower my payments as well.

FJR1300
ST1300
Multistrada 1200 (when I hit the lottery, but damn its so awesome)

Other bikes come and go from my list but these all seem to have the most staying power. I am semi delusional that I'd like something easier to 2 up on but I don't have anyone to 2up with...

Mark I've seen you run the field for the Uptown GP. That is a fun event to watch!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

Keep us posted when your planning to go. I don't know what day the ZARS group will be there that buts likely when I will be there...

If we don't get together then we will have to get a ride going.

Hmm I think I have to do inventory at work that weekend now...doh.

This thread still active? Live north of the Twin Cities and just picked up the 939 on Saturday from MotoPrimo!

Went out yesterday and put the first 100 miles on!

Always looking to ride!

What are your thoughts on Motoprimo? And welcome to the club!

Thank you!

Honestly, great guys all around to work with. There was no sale pressure at all. I started talking to Ryan from MotoPrimo at the bike show, he was in the Ducati section with one of his co-workers and between the two answered every question I had about the Hyperstada without the bike even being there. I feel like they gave me a fair price on my trade-in and I signed on the dotted line.

Nothing but 2 thumbs up for those guys down there.

Huh. Well I don't want to knock them if you're happy with their service. My experiences with their service department have been "less than stellar". I drive up to Moon when I need anything. I think they're now the only Duc dealer in MN that has a Ducati master tech.

Haven't used them for service. Unless you count installing the heated hand grips? The sales team though was great.

Saw someone at Motoprimo last Saturday with a red 939. Didn't have time to stop and chat, but I wasn't sure if it was you or not!
