My Hyperstrada came with a Puig tall screen, but I swapped it for the OEM screen as soon as I got it. Now that I'm trying to mount it again, I can't remember which combination of grommets and spacers were used to mount it.Anyone have a Puig that remembers, or better yet have the installation instructions? Puig no longer seems to offer it, and doesn't have one for download.
Here's what I have:
OEM Hyperstrada screen + 4 OEM rubber grommets
Puig touring screen + 2 thick rubber washers + 2 thin plastic washers + reinforcement bracket
What I ended up doing today was simply transfer the OEM gromets to the Puig screen and bolt it on, but the top mounting holes are offset with the bracket, so the bolts don't bottom out. What's more concerning is the 2 thin and 2 thick leftover washers. I do remember when I swapped the Puig out, the thin spacers were used on the on the top 2 holes to account for the thickness of the bracket. But then the screen won't mount with the grommets on, and with the grommets off, the mounting bolts gouge into the screen.
It's probably fine for now, but I am definitely curious if these leftovers are actual Puig parts, or something the PO added to try to "fix" it.
