Well, I thought the Hyper was sexy but the MV Agusta Rivale may just trump it...about 15 more horses out of an 800 and claimed wet weight is a whopping 75 lb or so less than the Hyper. Granted, no bags, no windshield, and no 12v outlets, but still...Yeah, the style could be considered a ripoff of Ducati's, but it still looks sweet to me. I can't wait for them to actually start producing them-supposed to be this month but you know how that goes.

Just looked up pictures and I can't say I'm liking the look of it. Chassis looks the same as the Duc but the headlight looks like a cheap aftermarket fairing using an 08 gixxer 1000 light, front fender has me thrown and the tail looks too faux offroad. The triple motor in it making 125 HP is going to be too high strung and high end power for the bikes aero dynamics, what makes the ducats motor such a gem is all that low end grunt from a twin...

sexy indeed. but more like a Streetfighter challenger. They've really come around though I haven't read current reviews of their offerings. 20 years ago, they looked amazing but were 3x's the price of Japanese bikes that smoked them performance wise.

I have loved the look of them since they were released last November in Milan, it is disappointing they still haven't hit the show rooms yet.

It is my wife's "next" bike should she decide to.

To bad MV is notoriously unreliable let's see if this changes with this model year.

It is DeAD Sexy!!!

I saw the bikes 3 weeks ago in Italy near varese when I was on Holiday. No Hyperstrada challenger. More for Streetfighter. They were testing along a KTM Duke.

I'm glad the motard design is getting so popular cause some really cool bikes are being released.

Can't say I'm a fan of the low floating tail hugger/plate bracket. Takes away from the open single sided swingarm.

I must agree, that's one of the wickedest looking bikes I've ever seen. The one tiny niggle for me, which keeps me coming back to the Hyper as being *the* best looking bike on the planet [IMHO of course], is I really like the Hyper's "beak" above the front wheel. I adore that dirt bike-ish style. But that aside, the Rivale is awesome for sure!!

more I look at it, 3 low slung shotgun pipes kinda clash with the technical/edgy overall design. Still very sexy and I never get overly critical of a stock pipe on a bike...they won't last long on a bike like this.

think that that bulbous thing under the seat and aft of frame is storage?

Speaking of exhaust what I don't like is the big box cat just below the 3 beautifully sculpted exhaust pipes.

In regards to what gkmapv said re the Streetfighter, I think the Brutale is in that segment and the Rivale is more aimed at the Hypermotard.
I am in Greece on vacation for 2 weeks, Athens first and now Naxos. Most popular bike here seems to be the V Strom 650 with a lot of other similar genre bikes-Honda Africa Twins, lots of Yamahas. Have yet to see a Duc, Ulysses (a natural for Greece) or big GS.

The sad thing is, in Japan we should put one ugly bold silenser in stead of berutiful 3 exhaust pipes.

The big box stealer thinks it will be spring before we see these bikes stateside. That's pathetic!

I was hiking up the volcano in Santorini today and there was a young buck in front of me wearing a KTM backpack. I asked him if he rides a KTM and he said he works there as a chassis designer. We started talking bikes and he told me about the new 1290 Super Duke R, supposed to hit US shores sometime around October. Okay, definitely a naked bike, but based on the 1190 Adventure chassis. Forget the sexy Italian, now I'm lusting after the brawny Austrian...

It has a camera instead of a driving lamp. Is this intended for the street?

Always loved the Super Duke. It was actually my first bike of choice before ending up with the Strada.

Good Lord. Tech specs have been released on 1290 Super Duke. They are claiming 180 hp, 106 ft-lb and around 450 lb with a full tank. And it seems to have a headlight.

Woot! Today on the Super Duke site they unveiled the touring version...windshield, heated grips,GPS mount, touring seat, built in disc lock, and wee little Hyperstrada sized panniers. Of course, based on what I've seen posted about the 990 SMT, I am guessing mileage will be more on par with my wife's Honda CRV than the Hyper.
