So my 13 HS's brake light won't turn off. ive tried adjusting everything i can with nothing helping. bleeding the brakes are the only thing i haven't done yet. could this be something else? neither tire rotates freely but its not like they are grabbing and it rides just fine. I can't switch my mode either cause it says release all brakes. anyone have this problem before? something im missing?

Have you put aftermarket brake and clutch on the handlebars? There was a guy over here that fit some and missed a spacer on the clutch lever which left the electrical switch open.

Nothing aftermarket. I did try to install new levers but they didn’t work so I put stock back on. And where are the micro switches?

If your wheels turn freely and the brake light is on this is an electrical, not a brake issue. Bleeding the brakes will almost certainly be a waste of time. The brake light is triggered by a switch in both the front brake lever assembly, as well as the brake pedal. One or both of these is likely malfunctioning.

Sorry, I misread your original post. Your front tire should rotate reasonably freely when on a proper front lift. I wonder if you mashed something with that aftermarket lever.

It sounds like the brakes are OK. The pads are always in slight contact with the disc, but the wheel should spin easily with a slight scrapey sound. if you google an hyperstrada part fiche like at Omaha Ducati, and look under front brake system, you'll see the location of the microswitch right under the lever/MC clamp.

Some bikes have a small spacer on the lever that can fall out when switching levers, but I don't see this.

From this thread :Adjusting front brake microswitch? - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum one guy just sprayed a bunch of contact cleaner on it to loosen the plunger. That's what I would do while working the lever.

The part # is 53940721A

Probably lost the microswitch plunger when swapping the levers. If not, I'd assume the rear microswitch plunger behind the foot lever. Check it resets fully.
