New Hyper 950

Underseat exhaust? Really? Never owned a bike with pipes run under the butt, but everything I've read says cons outweigh pros. I can't imagine what 2 stock collectors weigh vs a single titanium can.

Wish they'd stop dicking around and put the 1260 in it. The 939-950 have not been a breakthrough over 821.

The amount of extra piping for the undertail exhaust looks odd. I kinda like the trellis under the seat and yeah, that dash looks nice. I also think I read that the 950 despite having roughly the same specs runs a bit better than the 939. Not enough of a change to make me sad about my SP though.

Pretty confident that pipe, gearing, tuner, high flow filter and weight savings would nose ahead of a stock 950. Not that I wouldn't want more engine, I was just shocked at the performance #'s that 939's advertised. With 821, I was impressed. Figured an extra 100+ cc's would be equally impressive.

Think of the performance jump between 600 and 750 sport I-4's. If this is all because of Euro 4 compliance...damn shame.

Aren't they pushing Euro 5 yet?

Edit: N/M, that isn't until 2020

They say even with the same seat height it feel 2 inches lower. I bet they got lots of complaints with the 34.2 and 35 in the SP. We,ll see.

Yup I had the SP and even with a 34" or so inseam it felt tall.

I'm an outlier I guess but one of the reasons I bought the SP was the height. I'm 6'3" and have roughly a 35" inseam and it feels pretty good. I still find the foot pegs start feeling a bit cramped on long (300+ mile) days but otherwise I like the way it fits. A rapid bike, flapper delete and a slip on are in the plans to smooth out the motor (don't need more power I just want to smooth it out between 4 - 6k) and I think I'll be happy with the 939 for a long time.

I gotta say that my quick ride with the 14T front sprocket change made 1st gear insanely better. I have the clutch fix, clutch cable, and new starter projects to complete this weekend. 14T swap was part of my 520 conversion, which included new chain and quick change rear with titanium hardware, poly cush drives and Ducabike axle nuts. I only bring this up because I can't say how much the entire driveline package resulted in a ultra smooth and snappy running 1st gear, which my bike was seriously needing. Much more noticeable than my 1st ride post RapidBike EVO.

I too loved the 14 tooth sprocket. Too bad my electronics freaked out with it. Still never figured it out, but the 15 wasn't terrible to begin with so I wasn't too upset.

This new Hyper950 doesn't rev me. It looks older. Its blocky. Revamped 937? Doesn't say what new displacement actually is. Performance wise, it will surely outperform my 821, but we're riders not racers anyway. Undertail pipes ruin the plausibility of panniers. The electronics are what matter, if they finally dont foul anymore. Im happy its still on the roster, but this iteration doesnt really have much to blow away the last model. However, perhaps the history and development make this the best one yet, having been thoroughly gone through and raised to the next level, which is what it should be. One of you will surely get one and then we'll all know the maked truth. As for me, my 821 is a forever bike, along with the next in order, Monster 821, then of course the Multi Enduro 1260 for RTW.

Does revamped 937 mean this new 950 is not the same engine that is in the Multistrada 950? Next year theyll probably call it 960.
