hi guys ....bought Hyperstrada last week and just returned from a 2k round trip to northern thailand were the rds are as good as they get.
Absolutely love the bike ....fun factor went through the roof.

One thing i did notice was ..when cruising around 150klm/hr i noticed the engine surging slightly, like it was begging me for more :D ....and it was impossible to maintain any speed. I took it into Ducati dealer at 1k service and they reset the mapping ..but its still there

Any ideas ...or is this normal for Ducati and twins ?

thanks for any recommendations

Welcome to this amazingly international forum.

If it's not there already, try turning the engine setting down to "Touring." I found the response in "Sport" too abrupt to maintain a steady speed. This does get better with practice, though. You are running the best quality high octane fuel you can find, yes?

Welcome to the club! Yes, these things are a blast and a half! Forecasting freezing rain where I live, so mine'll be sitting for a day or two, oh well, it makes you appreciate springtime. :)

Welcome to the forum! I think the engine needs to be shake down or tamed.

The first 1000km:under 5500-6000rpm
1000-2500km:under 7000rpm

Mine HP never has the same problem after shake down.

Good luck!

Welcome on board bud, you'll get used to the funnies of Desmo ownership, I like to call it character:D

thanks guys....its certainly got character that's for sure.
Thinking of ordering some carbon fibre next...for a little bling.

Riding season just started here ...so need to plan some long weekends of fun

cheers:D

yeah i kept it under those guidelines (almost)
wait and see i guess....

Great to see another hyper rider in BKK. Get ready for some serious heat when you get stuck on Sukhumvit on a Saturday afternoon.

Yes I have the same feeling too, slight surges along the way as I just wanted to "cruise". But got used to it. I think it is due to the throttle response.
