Rear shock upgrade

Has anyone been able to find a shock upgrade for these bad babies yet? I e-mailed Ohlins and they say they have nothing in the catalog for Hypermotard or Hyperstrada. I'm also working with Penkse as well. Are there other options out there that anyone knows about? Traxxion Dynamics has a fork cartridge kit avalible. Its big bucks compaired to the Andreanni kit, I think its was about 2k...

Try finding used Hypermotard SP rear Ohlins. I think it might fit

SP shock will add height to the rear, increasing rake...

Not sure that would be wise on this bike.

I was looking at the Wilbers last night. It seemed to be a pretty good price as well as plenty of options. I couldn't believe I when the guy at Ohlins said they don't even have a listing for either Hyper.... Has anyone seen or heard anything about this Mupo shock that exists?

I like having the ability to adjust my suspension but then again I wouldn't be doing it much. This bike will see touring, commuting and a track day VERY rarely.. I wonder if I'm better off just getting the forks done rather than cartridges.... Maybe see if I can get preload adjusters added. I'm not to thrown by the front end dive as I'm used to racing a Motard.

The cheaper Wilber's rear strut doesn't show a remote reservoir. The English version doesn't translate the options and all I can tell is it's not ride height adjustable?
Somebody wanna translate the options/specs of the cheaper rear strut?

I have an e-mail into the USA distributor asking for pricing and options on the Wilbers. I'll share when I know more.

Here is what the Wilbers dude has to say. Seems pretty reasonable compared to an Ohlins.

Yes Wilbers has a few shock options for the Hyperstrada:

Wilbers model 640 with rebound and manual preload: $619.00, with hydraulic preload adjust: $848.00.

Wilbers piggyback 3-way model with rebound, high/low speed compression adjust: $1039.00 with manual preload adjust, $1288.00 with hydraulic preload adjust.

Wilbers are built in Germany to your weight and riding style, available with blue or black springs, fully rebuildable and have a 5 year warranty.

Thanks for your inquiry, let me know if you have any other questions or would like to get something on order. I've attached the flyer for your viewing pleasure. :)

Best regards,

Ted Porter
