Hi Dane,

I am up in Coastal NH. If I can offer any assistance on your journey thru New England, I would be glad to help. If you need some maintenance, oil change, tire change (I have a No-Mar changer), or a place to stay with a home cooked meal, please PM me for contact info. I wish you the best of luck!

With a Fiat in the background!

Be saft and post up regular ride reports!

I wouldn't make it. I pack almost that heavy to go work and the gym. I'd need a side car or trailer.

Safe journey!

I'm heading out in the morning to Mena, Ar, but I will be on the Guzzi, wife on the 696. We are getting a late start might see you on the road. Probably gonna be raining all day tomorrow on our route.

Hope you have a good trip!

I hope your friday went better than mine, LOL. Heavy rain from Shreveport to Dequeen.

Drowned rat, and I had all my raingear on, plus the panniers had 4" of water being held in by the plastic pampers, LOL. 70 degrees tho.

Ride update

image.jpgWe left Texas Friday evening and rode in the rain to Slidell Louisiana. Saturday was a 550 mile ride all in the pouring rain to Knoxville Tennessee. Not a fun day! The hyper had no problems in the wet. Sunday we started our journey on the Blue Ridge Mountain parkway, at Cherokee NC and rode to Boone NC and spent the night. Monday we finished the parkway in Waynesboro VA. Riding skyline drive tomorrow.I highly recommend any part of the blue ridge parkway it's all good curve after curve with scenic views.

Any recommended rodes for Vermont and Maine?

Wildbill, thanks for the offer...always good to know someone is willing to help a stranger in need. Maybe a cup of coffee and riding conversation.

Between Lincoln nh and North Conway NH we ran into the kancamangus highway rt 112. The whole way through it I remember thinking "this would be fantastic in the daylight!" and if you stop in North Conway we found this crazy little one lane, two way road called the hurricane mountain rd. only a 5 min stop but very cool. I'd offer any help I could but I'm a ways off you're path in NB Canada

Just looked at the 10 day forecast for here. Looks like no rain in sight and daytime highs either side of 70 degrees. Mornings are a little chilly 45 to 55. The leaves are just starting to turn. Just a perfect time of year in New England.

Hurricane Mtn road is a hoot. 6 miles of fun. Kancamangus is a ~40 mile high speed sweepers ride. Did you find Bear Notch Road? It's off the Kanc, and another great ride. So many nice roads up and around the White Mountains. I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks of riding. Best time of year!

We'll today we rode through skyline drive from Waynesboro VA to Fort Royal. The rodes were awesome but the speed limit is 35mph and heavily patrolled. If it would have been 45mph it would have been fun. But at 35 you are risking a ticket in a state park, that would suck most likely. Anyway I don't recommend Skyline Drive solely on the speed limit. Took forever to get through it. We are now in PA in Mill Hall. Headed north west tomorrow, we will have to work on a route.

We'll we rolled through New York and it was pretty nice country...seem like a lot of traffic to us texans though, even n the country rodes. Made it to Vermont today and rode hwy 100 which was very scenic but, the rode was very rough almost the whole route...they were laying new asphalt today. Riding through the little towns on 100, 4, 30, 35, 131 was nice. All through Pennsylvania, New York, and Vermont what has stuck in my mind is the big houses, big garages and big barns. Everything looks so old..in a good way compared to what I am used to seeing. And the fresh air is nice! I live in the place that imports most of the crude oil for the US, so the air up here is nice. Headed to Windham Maine tomorrow to get a new back tire installed at the ducati dealer and then who knows...gotta eat some lobster while in Maine right? We plane to spend a couple of days riding around in Maine.

Hope you are having a great trip, and take plenty of pictures.

Cadillac Mountain...Acadia national park, Maine...A must do if in Maine...not a place to ride fast but it's just a beautiful place. I would really recommend the car and hiking gear.
