tool to remove the handgrip and throttle control

so in middle of installing heated grips. whew, what a job for warm hands.

anyway, i have not a clue what tool i need to remove the throttle control.

pic of bolt here. and does any hardware store have this tool?

It looks like a security torx fastener, any hardware store should have those bits. Which sort of defeats the security part of it :)
 
Install them, then take them to the dealer to have them activated in the dash. start bike, then push the start button to see the menu, again to toggle through low/med/high/off
 
not the "correction" i was hoping for.

i mean that seems fair. i only paid $11,000 for a brand new bike. the least they can do is charge me $35. so sweet of them.

My dealer did it free during my 160 dollar first service. Seeing as that is the last service I'll pay for til 18K miles, I'd say ownership is looking pretty cheap.
 
OK, a little sarcasm there. My first dealer would have done it for free. My current dealer charged me $35 to reset the oil service light.

Just depends. Certain shops can do it out of spite cause they lost $400 by you not getting grips installed through them.
