Just like some of the other posts I've read, I'm looking for some input. After being away from 2 wheels for awhile...kids and other obligations. I have reached my mid-life and want to get back in the saddle. I have heavily gravitated towards a new Ducati and though the Multistrada is at the top of my wishlist, I am also considering the Hyperstrada. Can't bank-roll both. I'm 6'1 195+/- with a 32" inseam. One of my questions is passenger capability. In addition of the to/from work commute...I'm certain my wife will take an occasional cruise through some mountain roads to enjoy the scenery...Is the Hyperstrada a capable machine with passenger in-toe? Does any one do a 2-up often and are there any complaints with the seating position/performance??? Hey, Thanks...:D

I'd recommend going to a dealer and trying both. The hyper is capable and personally i'd say a better commuter, but two up touring i'd say the Multi.
Only by trying the bikes for yourself though will you be able to make a decision.
They are both great bikes. I have a Strada and my mate has a Multi.

I use mine 2up everytime we go somewhere. Wife rides her 696, then when we get there she usually gets on back. HS handles it fine. I am 185, together we are like 320lbs. I run the preload all the way up for those rides. Normally I am like 6 clicks from full preload.

P.S. The multi12 would handle 2up much better, even the base model, which is just a couple more thou!

I had a 2012 Multi, picking up a Hyperstrada today. For two up & longer trips on a more frequent basis, Multi would be my choice. For commuting, occasional longer trips and general "sport" riding I believe the Hyoerstrada is a better choice. If you have any other questions fire away.

Thanks for the input...weather permitting, I'm looking forward to a demo comparison this weekend. Thanks again...

two up

I have plenty of fun 2 up and wife enjoys ride. I bought the topcase and she said that was great to have something at her back. She enjoys the ride and I feel the bike is well designed to handle two. If I was going touring the multi would be the better choice I would think. We do poker runs or roads in SoCal so not on the thing for hours at a time, maybe an hour to two is it.

Tuesday can't come soon enough...Demo'd the Hypermotard today:) The hyperstrada was only avail for showroom comparison. Bottom line...pulled the trigger on a red Hyperstrada. Have to wait until Tuesday(dealer closed on Monday) to uncrate and take delivery. A huge thumbs up to my new family at Duc Pond Ducati in Winchester Virginia. Awesome atmosphere accompanied with a great crew. As far as the ride...It's deceiving...Can't wait for the ride home:) Thanks for the replies to my original post and look forward to chatting with y'all (or yous guys) if your from up North. Later...

Glad you went for the faster option, you know it makes sense:D

Congratulations!
HS is wonderful bike with touring capability.
I am looking forward to hearing you ride report.
