Vibrations after tire changing

Hey fellow riders,

Since last tire changing, i have a problem with the front brake and vibrations on the front wheel.

IÂ´ve changed to a Conti Road Attack 2, the steps exactly after the repair manual.

But now, when i sometimes apply the brake hard in low speeds, i get a really extreme vibration onto the front wheel.

The only thing that i wasnÂ´t sure of in the manual was

"To reinstall the brake callipers, you must operate the brake lever when tightening the brake caliper bolts"

Or could it also be the steering head bearing, because my dealer installed the seal 2 weeks ago ?

I also think that the vibrations on the front wheel are getting more and more.

Hi, the only reason to apply the brakes after caliper removal is pump the caliper pistons back out to where they should be, when you remove the calipers the pistons are forced back slightly.
Are you sure its not the ABS kicking in, hard braking at low speeds would get it to kick in, try changing the mode or ABS sensitivity.
If its the head bearings are causing it, then there will be play in the bearings, which can be checked by putting the bike on the center stand and lifting the front. Get hold of the front wheel and lift/pull it fwd, you will feel play in the bearing if its loose.

Does it shudder or does it shake the handlebars from side to side?
Have you had the tyre fitment checked? Did they balance the wheel after fitting the tyre?

Hello Mentalist and PomGP

The sound is like an old bicycle braking when the brake pads are old, but at the same time the whole front is vibrating not really shaking.

They also balanced the wheel before fitting to the bike.

I will see if i can check the bearing today and write if i feel any play in the bearing.

This is from the service manual

Before tightening the scews (5), lower the bike to the ground and push up and down on the handlebar to load the suspension; so the fork legs will becom properly seated onto the wheel shaft.
Tighten the screws (5) to a torque of 10Nm, following 1-2-1 sequence.

ABS sensor not aligned on the pick up correctly?

I have the same repair manual and all steps are made correctly after the manual.
I helped the mechanic with his work.

Also the problem is not everytime i brake.

in the manual i havenÂ´t found anything to the space between the ABS Sensor and the ABS wheel, but i have controlled the proper alignment and also if there are any damages to the ABS wheel or the Sensor.

my brakes have started to make a horrible grunchy noise after about 5000mls, I've deglazzed the discs and pads andput copperslip on the brake pad sides, I'll have to see how it goes during the Scotland trip next week, if it continues, I'll be fitting different pads.
