With or without axel and fork slider?

Can anyone explain how the frame sliders attach to the bike? Do you need to replace the engine bolt?

And it appears that the front and rear axle sliders don't do much aside from add a place to lift with the rear stand... right?

for the frame sliders, you do replace a main bolt through the frame. I think the front axle sliders will save some front end rash, but I don't see how the rear's will help as the rear end has a lot of stuff wider than the rim - so I didn't install them. Some guys do like using the paddock stands which require the spindle/sliders. I haven't run into any thing I can't do with the centerstand.

Cool, thanks!

I was wondering if sliders could be made that just pushed into the frame tube without needing to replace the bolt. I wonder if there is any benefit or downside to this.

They could possible work loose if in a slide, I guess. Stressing them to the frame is extra assurance. It's not a difficult job at all.
