Xenon

Great write up but I wouldn't tackle without a good video or slide show with lots of pictures and pop up arrows. Maybe it's not as complicated as it reads but I'm prone to destroying weak plastic automotive parts and I'd be screwed.

So, did you talk to the company about the bad bulb? It's clear but not much stronger than stock H4. How much was total with Philips bulb, subtracting Morimoto?

I have been updated my headlights on every bike I owned, in different ways, so I am use to disassemble and modify. No big deal for me.

The standard bulb from the company cost only $23, if you buy it separately, so its a very cheep one.
I would have switched to the Philips bulb anyways.

The Xenon Kit is $150.
The Philips bulb is $110.

Ouch! It's a good mod. Does your projector housing look as good as the HM in the link you posted?

One thing I am wondering for this mod...how does it do high-beams? I see it is a bi-xenon, so does that mean it has a tiny halogen attached, or a solenoid that opens more of the projector?

StefanR, can you check your messages or go to "What did you do to your hyperstrada today?" thread to help me out with LED driving light install?

The work with converting the headlight to Xenon.

Hi
The conversion to Xenon Projector headlight is coming to an end :D

Nice place for the ballast and relay. The fairing fits nice.

All the cables. Connector for solenoid still missing.

Im very much leaning towards this mod, but one thing: does the projector housing accept a standard H4 bulb? Im just thinking in the event of a ballast or bulb failure on a trip, can I do a roadside swap?

While rare, I have had aftermarket HID kits fail in the past, so I want to plan ahead.

EDIT: nevermind, found the answer on another page. It will accept H4 by default.

Hi suprphreak

The projector will normaly only accept D2S Xenon lamp.
But I have made an adapter and can fit a H1 lamp and together with some special wiring and connectors, both low and high beam will work. Will put this parts in a box on the bike.
H4 lamp will not fit.

Finally finished with the Xenon and LED installation.
Expected that the Xenon light would be a little brighter (I compare with my car that has Xenon).
The projector lins is not so big, so maybe thats why. But it still is 200% better than the original, so I am pleased. Maybe I will try 55W later.
The Led lamps are awesome.
The picture is taken with an iPhone, not so good to catch the light far away.

Xenom High Beam + two 30W LED lamps

Could be the phone, but not a hole lot of differentiation between low and high beam.

I installed the same driving lamps. It's like sunrise when i turn them on. All drivers camping in fast lane immediately move over when I flash them. Love them.

Where did you bought the led lamps? i saw that you mounted them extra, that's a reason for me to try it out :)

Where/how do you turn them on? You got an extra button or with what?
