    698 Recalls

Info I provided here was found by “registering” my bike with Ducati and logging into the My Ducati site - https://my.ducati.com/MyDucati/MyDucati_Login Perhaps your dealer’s service department can assist you with more details? I’m sure you can get this same content from the Ducati App on any...

Rear Reat popping up after each ride on the Hypermotard 698 Mono

You never know what else they might need to do. I bumped into mention of another “service bulletin” tonight, on YouTube, posted two weeks ago by one of the forum members … it doesn’t seem to show up on my VIN, and I haven’t experienced the issue.

Understandable. Unfortunately we don't yet have any clue about whether the second recall might be a different story and might make it worth the hassle.

Might be worth having a sticky thread for people to post the official My Ducati recall notices. I’ll start with the first two I’ve got.

Rear Reat popping up after each ride on the Hypermotard 698 Mono

The tail of the seat pops up when I sit on the bike, at 0 RPM.

Rear Reat popping up after each ride on the Hypermotard 698 Mono

Yup. I was impressed with your mod, kwwood24. Your post is in this thread, just a few back, on the bottom of page 1. The repetitive stress/strain will continue, regardless of the grommet quality, so I wonder whether the plastic seat pan will eventually creep & relax into a final shape or if it...

Any feedback on this fuel fix gizmo ?

Weird to see the dash reflecting the modified sensor but the OBD stream ignoring it.

Rear Reat popping up after each ride on the Hypermotard 698 Mono

Interesting. To me, it seems like the problem has more to do with the way the seat is supported, rather than the rubber grommets. The seat pan is flexing under the rider’s weight and the back end is pivoting up and out of the grommets.

Any feedback on this fuel fix gizmo ?

Tempting to hack that part, but be careful to ensure the substituted component doesn't suffer metal fatigue and end up being sucked through the intake! AAT = Ambient Air Temperature (should be the front one) IAT = Intake Air Temperature (should be the airbox one) ECT = Engine Coolant...

    Reluctant starts

    Reluctant starts

Sounds like a scan tool with Euro5 adapter cable could have taken care of it. Although my bike hasn’t thrown any codes yet, but an older version of this cheapo tool has happily read sensor data from the bus on my 698...

Lol, united prankster service. Even worse for us in Canada, like most things.

    Storage compartment

Or a little handlebar bag. Should be plenty of space for a garage door opener and a tubeless flat kit: * Mosko Moto Gnat * Giant Loop Zigzag * EZ Handlebar Bag 5.11 sling packs are a nice option for easy access, portability, and a range of capacities.

    Akrapovič slip ons

I'm sure they sound nicer (just like any aftermarket can) and they look nice, but it's only 7 oz lighter and (to any meaningful level) the dyno run doesn't really distinguish itself from stock. It would take a 50% off coupon for me to take a second look ... I don't see the value proposition.

    Reluctant starts

Gil_, My reluctant starts were gone once I started burping the tank on hot days. Changing to the sprint filter and open airbox lid might have helped, or maybe it just needed 2500 miles to loosen up a bit. Now that cold (below freezing) weather is here, the starter motor can seem a little...

    698 RVE Headlight

Give orange "high strength removable" thread locker a shot for your bar ends. Better than blue but less permanent than red.

    698 RVE Headlight

Thumpers shed fasteners. It’s a basic fact. Blue or orange thread-locker, zip ties, and safety wire can be your friend, but keep thread-locker off the plastics. I’ve lost three screws so far: RHS seat screw (twice), rear screw on the header pipe heat shield, and most recently the one that...
