Interesting. To me, it seems like the problem has more to do with the way the seat is supported, rather than the rubber grommets. The seat pan is flexing under the rider’s weight and the back end is pivoting up and out of the grommets.

I 3D printed some new grommets and haven't had an issue since.
I posted a pic of them in another thread. I think it is a support issue and a grommet issue. The factory grommets are very flimsy and they fall apart after a bit. I made some out of TPU material which solved the issue.

Yup. I was impressed with your mod, kwwood24. Your post is in this thread, just a few back, on the bottom of page 1.
The repetitive stress/strain will continue, regardless of the grommet quality, so I wonder whether the plastic seat pan will eventually creep & relax into a final shape or if it will eventually suffer a fatigue failure.

I could be wrong but I think the issue is the subframe, which is essentially acting like a beam supported at one end, vibrates too much. A certain RPM is a resonant frequency for the subframe and the seat pops out. A subframe is like a cantilever beam, and resonance can be a serious issue.

I got a notification by Ducati, to update for new ‘seat mounting rings-.

Anyo
I got a notification by Ducati, to update for new ‘seat mounting rings-.

Anyone else?

Roger that. Got the notifications as well- on the Ducati app. I bought it the second week of December ? Received it ASAP- have not taken her in. I adjusted the crappy rubber grommets myself, though they are torn. Will bring in tmrw….

Understandable. Unfortunately we don't yet have any clue about whether the second recall might be a different story and might make it worth the hassle.

You never know what else they might need to do. I bumped into mention of another “service bulletin” tonight, on YouTube, posted two weeks ago by one of the forum members … it doesn’t seem to show up on my VIN, and I haven’t experienced the issue.

Wobbly handlebars on the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE !! How to fix !!! 🍝

@dunchooby 2 weeks ago

There’s a service bulletin to replace the bolt, bushings, and washers. Mine were replaced free under warranty, if anyone else has this issue don’t be scared to reach out to your dealer.
