Wondering where you all are buying the 12v plug? It's not a US standard size. I ordered one off of eBay and had to send it back because it was too big for the hole on the Hyper.

It's a standard Euro size see the DIN plug on this page.

Procar 12v Adaptors, Plugs, Sockets - Buy Securely & Cheaply on-line

You can also buy Din to US size converters (about half way down the page), which will then allow you to plug and play.
The Hyper has a second plug on the left hand side under the tank and an upgraded electrical system to run all your toys. I regularly power my phone and charge my GoPro. Think it will also run termal suits :)

These are called powerlet sockets, bmw style sockets, and DIN sockets. A google search with those terms will turn up lots of info/products. They are more weatherproof and vibration proof than cigarette lighter sockets. They are limited to 5 volts each I think.

You can also buy Din to US size concerters, which will then allow you to plug and play.

Thank you! I was having a really hard time finding them. Want to charge my gopro and iPhone.

I had trouble finding it here in Thailand and ended up ordering from Viscious Cycle in Canada. Originally from Canada so I picked it up when I was back home on a trip.

Here is there website, product is called Powersports DIN 4165.

5V ?
they are 12V sockets as the larger ones also

FYI - any local BMW motorcycle dealer should have an adapter.

If it helps. I bought my adapter from Panda Rider in Bangkok

Going to stop by San Diego BMW today since I don't want to deal with ordering a crappy electrical part from ebay. That has happened to me in the past. At least I have easy recourse if I buy it locally.

Thanks!

my mistake - 5 amps

Sorry - meant 5 amps. I think the 2 have 10 amp total and are on the same circuit. Don't quote me on that. What I'm saying is that running electric jackets etc - via these ports is not a good idea. Great for small electronics.

5 amps x 13 V (nominal) = 65 watts, plenty for a heated vest. And I'm pretty sure that both sockets are on the same fuse, so you could run just one at even more.

Back when I lived in Seattle I had zero problem running a W&S heated jacket and gloves on full throttle as needed over the course of a whole winter.

Thats about 1/2 the wattage of my jacket liner at full power - I just plug into a coax straight from the battery.
