I think he was wondering if an aftermarket filter would cause an over-lean scenario.

Personally I wouldn't worry unless you have both a filter and slip-on. Some people seem to think that a slip-on helps with the surging issues. I'm doing more research on the topic, as I have a sprint filter I want to install before I go on a road trip in April.

Yes I have an akrapovic slip on exhaust too.
So I guess it may contribute to an over lean scenario with a K&N filter too maybe ?

I would give it a try but with all the work involved in changing filter out , then maybe finding out I have to swap back to OEM ............................ I'd be gutted I reckon
