Are the Termi's worth it on the Hyperstrada?

Quite simply, is the sound improvement worth the cash? On the videos I've heard, I can hardly hear much of a difference... doesn't seem worth 4 figures, that's for sure! Has anyone who put them on regretted spending the money? And anyone who put them on love it and couldn't imagine owning a Hyper without them?

Trying to understand if it's worth the cash or not. From what I've been seeing, it seems like the Termi's don't make nearly as much of a difference on the Hyper 821 as they do, on say the Monster.

Single vs dual? My issue is the Termi's are the only worthy swap looks wise. Somebody showed a German (?) can that was almost $3K!!!, and it looked hideous.

There are some loud ones out there, if that's what you're looking for. Search 'Hypermotard' on youtube for aftermarket pipes.

I won't be putting a can on mine anytime soon. I like the way the bike sounds stock, if I were to change it I would be looking for a specific growl not just loudness. Two friends were comparing their engine sounds one had a 996 with the termi and one with an rc51 and sato exhaust. The Duc was louder but the rc sounded much better IMO

Okay so what's the best sounding Hyper 821 exhaust?

It is indeed in the eye of the beholder.
I shelled out the money for the Termi without regret. It is a quality item and I love the crack on the overrun, the sound of a good breathing engine.

Pedro, I watched most of your video waiting for you to wind it all the way out but you kept it pretty tame.

The fact that pedestrians 100 meters away turn to see what's making that growl when I'm gettin in it reminds me the stocker is quite audible.

Plus one for a deeper, bassier growl. Think the forks and a steering damper have higher priority.

SPARK

So far I like this one from spark, looks great and seems to have that sound I was talking about, but it's so hard to say without seeing one in person.

12 hp and nearly 6 kg less (on Z800 specs). That's worth it to me.

the Moto GP is just so small. Maybe if they made a carbon fiber/black finish.

The Termi's give the Hyper 821 a 12HP gain?!? If so, that's awesome. So the Termi's bring it up to 122HP?

I like the Spark as well. Don't know what the sound is, they have more then one option on it.
The weird thing is that the famous valve in the exhaust is gone.... So you must get an electronic device to get things working. Like the ese made by Healtech.

Looks really great...:)

Sounds terrific! I just ordered the SPARK exhaust for my Hyperstrada. It was only $650 as opposed to $1,650 for the Termi's. Price wasn't so much the issue as I would of been fine with spending $1,650 for the Termi's if I felt it had a better sound but I've watched a ton of videos and the Termi's just don't seem to make much of a difference on the 821. Conversely, on the Diavel, HOLY HELL, the Termi's are absolutely worth it and make a COLOSSAL difference, but from all the videos I've listened to the difference for the Termi's installed on the 821 doesn't seem very big.

The SPARK, at least in that video, appears to be a lot closer to the sound I'm looking for and is a significant improvement from stock. Personally, I think the stock exhaust on the Hyper 821 sounds too much like a dirt bike... that high pitched rat tat tat as opposed to an agressive low to medium growl.

So I think the SPARK sounds better than the Termi's for the 821 based off the videos I've listened to, and it only costs $650 vs $1,650, so I'm going to go that route.

Just ordered the SPARK exhaust, but it's a special order item so it says it will take 4-6 weeks to get it in. So I guess I'll have a month or more to get to know the stock exhaust and then will be able to switch them out and see which I like better.

Bought the SPARK exhaust here, in case anyone else is interested: Spark Hypermotard 821 MotoGP full titanium silencer

I declined the DB killers and didn't select the ECU re-map as I'm guessing I can get that done locally. Anyone know if this is the same thing as having the ECU mapped for the Termi's? If so, could I go to my local dealer and just have them remap as though I installed the Termi's?

@HyperstradaHopeful, I think the Spark re-map is required due to the fact that the exhaust valve is no longer installed (they are missing in the pictures). I like the looks of them, also the MotoGP one.

Let us know things go with the Spark exhaust, really curious about it.....

So what's that mean? What's going to happen if I install and startup the bike before the remap?

Can I just get the Termignoni remap or is it different?

When the exhaust valve is missing the bike gives an error. There must be communication between the ecu and the solenoid that actuates the valve.
I don't know what the termi re-map does with the valve.

BTW There is another thread regarding the valve and solenoid and the removal of it.

Maybe you can contact the Spark guys and ask them about it.

You don't have to remove the whole valve - it's okay to remove only the cable then everything is fine ;-)

This would be nice, have you tried this?
Could be good news, only thing is to look for a replacement part (pipe) for the valve.

I know they are working on a replacement for the actuator, DUC-EE and the Healtech ESE is already out. Healtech for just €60,-.

You dont have to replace anything at the muffler (is it the muffler? Don't know, i'm german :D) because the flap will be opened all the time when the cable is removed.
The Valve will still working but he won't change anything if the cable is removed.

I did not tried this at the Hyper but at other motorcycles.
Most people only removed the cable. When they removed the whole electronic is it cause of the more space they got to playe an oiler or something but the valve of the Hyper is under tha batterie if am right so it wont change anything and you don't got more space so save the money and only remove the cable ^^
