Lambda Sensor Replacement - Hypermotard/Hyperstrada 821

Ordered these the other day. They will take a while to get her but it says they have a 3 year waranty and are $63 each brand new. We will see how it works out

Let me know, they seemed like they'd work, but I wasn't sure if the quality would be legit.

could you send me the link for this please. I have searched ebay and cannot find it anywhere.

Cheers

Cheers,

put in my watch list, just in case I need any. they look right, let us know how you get on.

They are here. Look like the exact same. They have schmutz on them as if they were tested and antiseiz was used. I hooked my meter to the wires. Violet to White wires were getting 17.2 and 16.4 ohms resistance. The old ones were an open circuit because they were burned up. The color code is the same and in the same orientation. I have been running with blown sensors for over a year. At low rpm it would surge and what not but it was tolerable. Took it for a quick spin and the dash light is off (for now), it smells different and it runs smoother down low. We will see what time does to them. It would be really cool if they actually honored that 2 year warranty they claim if I happen to need it

Good to know. Just got mine back from the shop. Valves were fine, swapped the cam belts, new coolant hoses, cleaned all the ECU connections to engine (fixed my blown fuse/ death issue *said I "wash too much with soap"), and tuned my RB a bit. I still have a CEL for the vertical lambda. Runs much better but still get some pops on decel and the 2nd gear misfire could not be resolved. He says the misfire is from an engine speed miscompare but can't say for sure if it's the RB tuner. He's gonna keep talking to the company.

I think replacing the Lambda's will help with some of my issues.

Guys anyone checked on the Bosch Sensors for Hypermotards few links here and are they compatible.

I had a similar issue with the front sensor, I tried to get a Delphi cross reference but it seems the ones for the 821 are unique to that model.

You can try cleaning them. There pretty simple instruments and I suspect they coke up more than they fail. This wasn't even my issue when I attacked them but wanted to rule it out.

Hello Tim, so it looks like you have been using those china o2 sensors for 2 years now. Are they still going strong? I need some new sensors and I'm looking at the same ones you got from Super auto parts supplier. The price is right. Saw the Bosch ones too but they are pretty pricey.

So about 2 months ago my bike started acting up. Naturally I thought it was the O2 sensors again so I bought 2 more. Swapped them in and the same issue was there. Turns out it was the quick shifter hyme joints. They wore to the point that they have slop and was triggering the quick shifter. I should have tested the O2 sensors before going and buying new again. I tested them after and they meeter fine. So, yes the Chinese sensors are still going strong and they are definitely a worthwhile purchase over the super expensive OEM units. Although I don't know what the OEM sensors are selling for these day.

^^^This just happened to me. I suspected something with the quick shifter since I could feel a lot more slop in shifts. A nut backed off and gave enough play to create misfires in multiple gears under heavy throttle.

Hello:
I have bought an 821 Hyperstada and the previous owner had removed the Lambda sensors and installed the sensor eliminators. I bought new lambda and I want to install them. Does anyone have the diagram of which lambda sensor connects to which plug?
Thank you,

I can't help you with the connections but am wondering what you hope to gain from doing this? How did the bike run with the lambda eliminators? These motors are notorious for fueling glitches so simply going back to the original spec won't guarantee a smooth ride. However, when they run well they are excellent fun and I hope to get to enjoy yours!
