Brake pads

Yes, when coming to a stop at a junction, application of the front disc brake felt as though the pads were only working over half the revolution of the disc. This was also evident at higher speeds in feeling vibration through the brake lever. I guess the other thing that struck me was the surface finish of the disc with the Brembo stock pads was very rough (like a badly machined finish). I've been running with the EBC Kevlar based pads for around 350miles now and the disc finish has turned to what you imagine a good polished brake disc should look. Again the braking performance is far superior.

The surface is pretty rutted. Thought Brembo was a solid name. Maybe Duc just picked a poor compound.

After 2300 miles my HS brakes were showing all the signs of noisy warped front discs. Followed Stefans EBC pad recommendation and all issues fixed and far better front brakes. Not sure how to change the rear pads, do you need to just remove the rear caliper or also split it.?
To change the rear pads, remove the retaining clip and pad locating pin, unbolt the caliper from the swingarm and swap the pads.
I have swapped the Brembos for the EBCs front and rear; they are great.

Many thanks for the info- looking forward to an improved rear brake

Being as I've fallen in love with Bendix MRR compound pads over the years, I'll be looking to upgrade to them when the time comes. However there's the problem of making sure they're the right fitment. I believe, based on the fact these bikes run MONOBLOC calipers, these pads would be correct:

BENDIX BEN-211-MRR BREMBO RADIAL MONOBLOC X97.37.60/61 RACE RACING FRONT PADS | eBay

However can anyone confirm if these calipers are used on other Ducati models so I can confirm? (I can't find a Bendix resource that lists the 821..)
