Ever since I first heard about the new single from Ducati I knew my endgame would not be this supermoto. Rather it would be its (hopefully) eventual dual-sport sibling. So I tried to imagine what that one could look like:

Based on that, my ultimate dream "build" would look something like this:

Rade tower, Mosko Reckless 40s, Wings exhaust, Rottweiler mirror mounts and arrow mirrors and Scorpion Rally STR tires.

My dream is to have a lightweight ADV bike that would likely spend bulk of its time on the hard stuff. I am not really a fan of mud and dirt, but I don't want to stick to just asphalt either. Range is really not an issue for me, personally. So I can't imagine I would need many other alterations to this. :D

Nice job on the photoshoping. I can't help think that your wish has already been granted via KTM's 690. Regardless, maybe Ducati is watching so keep yer fingers crossed.;)

I would love love love for Ducati to build a HyperEnduro with the 698 engine!

I usually tune in to their annual meeting at the end of the year, to see how many units they are selling, and I hope the 698 platform does some amazing numbers for the company and brand!

Maybe I love Ducati too much 😂

I've owned both the Husky 701 Enduro and Supermoto and while the 698 is very similar to the KTM 690 platform, there are a few annoying niggles that in the long run are quite annoying on the Austrian machines. One of the biggest annoyances for me is the placement of the gas cap. For any longer ride I would take a rolltop and strap it on the back, and then at every gas station I would need to unstrap it to get to fill the tank. Didn't really bother me too much the first 10 times, but it got more and more bothersome over time. And then there is the power delivery which is very nervous on the KTMs. Especially at city speeds where I'm trying to keep a constant lower pace not moving the throttle and the bike would simply lurch underneath me by itself. It just feels like 698 is this little bit more refined to make it more enjoyable not only when ridden hard on a race-track. But yeah, I've only got 60 (very cold) kilometres on my clock so can't really vouch how much (if any) better the 698 actually is :D

Nice designs, and I'd fancy a 698 set up for something other than youthful hooligan riding. One proviso would be a seat that looked less like a plank and didn't limit riding range!

If the KTMs are anything to go by, there is a slim chance the seat would be much better on the enduro version. So a Seat Concepts would be a must.. Then again - with the 701 Enduro I rode 4000 km in 10 days on asphalt (my riding buddy, my dad, was on a Yamaha cruiser), and I wouldn't say my butt was too mad at me after that. Could be though that I am not much heavy myself and that helps a tad. And of course the fact that it is possible to move around on the bench which is different shape and with in different places so it is possible to alternate the pressure-points.
Likely the riding range will be limited by the tanks size way more :D But truth be told - other than that one time, I have not had too many longer rides so my experience in this is rather scarce..

I would buy this dual sport / adventure Mono! Like your version! It just needs risers for the bar to be able to stand more comfortable.

Your render is beautiful, Margus.Tubeless & AXP Racing bashplates - mandatory. Not convinced the 698 engine is well suited to offroad/ADV, but your vision is closer to the unicorn than the Desert X Discovery.

Thanks! I believe it's all about the tune, but we'll see 🤞

Some people are riding the 701 SM and the 690 SMC R on the trails with some 50/50 adv tires.

I want to try the 698 on the dirt.

Like a lightweight adv bike

Has anyone done it?

I’ve ridden on some hardpack dirt trails, the bike can handle it if you have experience. Better tires would make it more capable.
