GoPro mounting locations

Not sure if any of you guys readily run a GoPro, but if you do, or were to, whereabouts on the bike and how would you mount it (forward facing) for best results from filming?

I'm not a fan at all of mounting it on my helmet (as much as I like the results), so looking for a good spot on the bike. I run one on the headlight fairing at the moment but don't feel it's stable enough...

Problem with the Hyper is the bike itself. ie the vibration from the motor.

I have mounted the GP on the bobbins on the main engine bolt...that was a waste of time...on the rear grab handles using a 1.5 x .75 inch plank that was 1 metre off centre to the bike...still lots of vibration. I have also mounted a camera on several panels using two layers of duck tape before putting on the GP mounts (just so you don't strip paint) and all show vibration. Have also tried the bars :(

I have seen video from the beak but this only looks forward and you don't see any of the bike. I think that the chesty mount might be best and if it was properly miced could be very good. The attached video was shot using the suction mount on the side of the bike and demonstrated the issue of vibration and different engine speeds....there is something special at the end for all our German friends :)

Happy to discuss further but think it easy to mic this bike....now all we need are stable picture...watch at 720HD.

I used last year a RAM-Mount at the handle bar.
No Problems with vibrations.

I've tried mounting it on mine in several locations, with varying degrees of success. You can see videos here:

Left bar mounted (U-bolt adapter) as close to the bar clamp as possible. Vibration wasn't terrible. Right side resulted in more of the dash being seen, which messed up the exposure at night.

Mounted to the chin bar of an AGV AX8. I don't like mounting the camera to my helmet, but arguably it has the best results in regards to vibration. Since it's in the middle there's no drag on either side of your helmet from the wind. Similar results to a chest mount.

Ram mount adapter, actually a Sony AS100V and not a GoPro. The vibration rendered it useless. Weird movement was from image stabilization and not the mount.

Side of the helmet. Sony AS100V again, but the GoPro results are the same. You can see the visor/side of helmet in it, which I find annoying.

Side of radiator on the flat cover. Don't do this if you sit in traffic, the heat will damage the camera. I like this angle and it didn't have any vibration problems.

Under tail: destroyed by a rock.

I always had issues with the numerous GoPro mounting options but the chest rig works well.

I've switched to an Ion camera. Home of the ION Air Pro - One of the lightest HD action cameras on the market.
Vid is HD with same resolution as Go Pro, but highly compressed in the link below. Helmet mount is simple as is the bar mount on the GS engine protection bar (use on handle bar if wanted). No vibrations in either position.

BTW - No extra $$ needed for housing for water resistance as the housing is waterproof.
@ 2:30 of the vid, it switches to the engine protection bar.
