Headline aiming

I guess I should look at the manual, I've been removing the front part of the beak by itself and was not aware that the whole assembly could be removed to access the headlight itself.

I remove 2x allen bolts under front fender, 2x allen bolts in top corners of dash, then remove entire front cowling. To remove headlight house, 2x torx screws on top corners of housing, then rotate forward and out. If there's a way to do this without removing the cowling first, I'm oblivious.

These two under the housing.

Pivot it out

Pull the whole beak up. It's mounted on 2 rubber grommets(blue pieces just in front of my fork tube). The whole thing will be in your hand at this point and you can pull the whole bulb out. The dirty blue pieces just in front of my fork tube are the rubber mounts I'm referring to. The whole beak is off at this point in this pic. 20210602_105823_compress92.jpg

Tried this last night while cleaning the bike. While I can in fact get the show think off, you still the wiring in the way to without cutting some zip ties to free that up there's not really enough room to fiddle with the bulb. In theory a nice feature but in function it's probably just as easy to pull the thing apart to get at the light.

Well I cheated and waited until dark and just pulled my bike a car length or so behind a parked car and then adjusted the up down setting until the hotspot from the light was cutting off around the level of the cars trunk. Took it for a spin last night after a bike night and I am pleased with this as a first try the beam is now on the road with a similar throw to cars next to me. It is of course a bit less focused but that was never this lights strong suite. High beam lights up everything but without disconnecting the running lights I have from Kuksul it's hard to say what is what :) Regardless this is sufficient for night riding and I'm pleased to know my headlight isn't searing retinas via rear view mirrors anymore.
