Looking for some advice! Can't decide between a second hand, low km 2011 Multistrada S or wait for the Hyperstrada! A bit concerned on the over the front feeling on the hyper versus the more upright on the multi. Can't seem to get much information from kiwi dealers regarding delivery dates and have been off bikes for 3 years and that is just too long. Looking for something to ride to work once a week and to have some weekend touring. Would welcome any comments....

There's a motorbike ergonomics site floating around and I don't think you can get anymore upright than h-Strada. I think your size and length of tours are big factors to weigh.

But you should definitely go and test ride them both and see which one you like better. On the reviews of the new 2013 hyper the testers said the weird front end feeling at high speeds is gone.

Hey kiwi, what is your height and weight? That's likely to play a big factor. You might be surprised to hear that the multi has less room on it for me in comparison to the hyperstrada. 6'5" and 300 lbs. plus the '12 multi suspension was way too soft even with the preload all the way up.

The two models you choose are completely different from each other, not only in ergonomics; the Multi is a sort of comfortable Panigale with 150hp born for mid or long trips and, according to testers and owners, it needs skills to be driven. The Hstrada is a lightweight fun bike, with enough hp to rip apart your arms when accelerate, nice to drive in everyday trips, from work commuting to 'let's go everywhere enjoying the landscape'.
I've tried both before decide, you should do the same.

2010-2012 Multistrada S is the best bike in the world. It does repay you if you're an experienced rider, especially of faster bikes. It's not a comfortable Panigale. It's a comfortable 1198S, which runs way cooler and sounds way better than the Panigale. And it's waaay faster than the superbikes on most roads because despite its weight it's very flickable; the only place a sportbike might beat it is at the track. Its 150hp Low is good for long rides in Touring mode; its 150hp High is unbelievable for canyon carving in Sport mode. Pre-2013 Multi 1200 motor does not enjoy low-speed stop-and-go commutes, but if you're commute is not in a big city it's a great commuter bike. If you're only commuting on it once a week then who cares. Can't speak on the new Hyper yet but should also be a good commuter. Won't do long weekend rides as well as the Multi though.

Thanks for all the advice, test rides on both are planned, problem is I can't find a dealer anywhere in NZ who can tell me when we will see the hyper. My patience is running out.....
