Hi Everyone,

Put a deposit down on a 2013 demo Hyperstrada and hopefully take collection in the next week or so. Took a test ride for an hour and that was enough to convince me it ticked all the boxes. Hoping to ride to WDW 2014 and maybe ride down with any Hyper owners or DOC GB members from the UK who are making the pilgrimage to Italy in July. Any advice on what to take and how far is possible per day as I'm relatively new to European tours. Thanks in advance.

Tim

Congratulations :)

Never been abroad with a bike. Enjoy

Welcome, Where are you getting your bike from? i'm in Milton Keynes so our paths may cross at some point.

Picked up the Hyper from Ducati Aylesbury.. Lookin for hyper owners locally for a quick blast if ur interested

Congrats on your purchase

Nice one well hope to hook up with you soon. Gotta finish running mine in but the Sport mode is fun in the few dry moments i've had ...just gotta use some self control to keep it under 5k rpm as it just starts to get fun and you gotta back off ;-)

Welcome from Cornwall. I am heading to WDW in July. Taking two weeks off for trip. Probably 300 plus miles a day. I am also a DOCGB member.

Harveystrada

Hi, guys.
I am Harvey living in Gibraltar riding a hyperstrada and around the roads in the south of Spain the bike is amazing. I have ridden all bikes for about 120 years and this thing beats all. Bye the way someone said they could just about get a letter under the seat, which at first glance it certainly looks that way. I managed to get a autocom unit and dongle under there but had to remove the tool kit. There is no room for a letter anymore but it does fit.
Anyone needing any info on details post me and I will gladly reply.

Hi Tim,
Sounds like you will have a great time travelling abroad with your HS. When you ask what to take with you, can I make a small suggestion. Buy a 25 mm thick piece of foam approx 400 mm x 100 mm and slide half of it down each leg of your biking trousers to protect your dangly bits. While the hyperstrada is very comfortable, when you get on a long trip the foam works a treat honest. You don't feel like you are leaning forward as much, and it makes a long trip so much better.
Great riding Harveystrada.

Dear Tim, welcome to the HS forum.
I hope that your trip to Italy will be a great experience.
(as I am in Japan, I cannot join)

How about going to France or Ireland as a practice before going to Italy.
I went to Hokkaido (north island) last summer and it was great.

Enjoy and ride safe!

Hi Guy, Hiro and Harvey, thx for the suggestions. Hoping to do a few mini trips before July to build up the endurance for Italy. Still enjoying the bike so far and racked up another cpl of hundred miles over last weekend as the weather was unusually good. Tim :)
