Hypermotard 950 Concept: Inspiration for Hypermotard RVE​

This is the original Hypermotard 950 Concept that was the inspiration for Ducati to create the special RVE lineup of Hypermotard motorcycles.

Centro Stile Ducati​

This Hypermotard 950 Concept was originally created by the Centro Stile Ducati, the in-house design center for Ducati, that translates to "Style Center" in English. This is the creative team of designers, modelers, and technicians, who collaborate on the design and aesthetics of Ducati motorcycles.

Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este​

This Hypermotard 950 Concept design helped Ducati win the "Concept Bikes: New Design and Prototypes by Manufacturers and Independents" category at the 2019 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d’Este, one of the most significant events in the world of classic cars and motorcycles. And while this event primarily focuses on classic cars, Ducati has always had a notable presence at this event, focusing on the motorcycle competition, where Ducati has showcased its design prowess.

Hypermotard RVE​

The first RVE was the 2020 Hypermotard 950 RVE, inspired by this Hypermotard 950 Concept. And while I've never seen Ducati explicitly state what the RVE acronym means, they have expressed what it's meant to represent, having made the following statements:

• "sophisticated painting process and application of the graphics guarantees a result comparable to that of airbrushed bodywork"
• "characterized by special 'Graffiti' livery"
• "a striking graphic design"
• "attention-grabbing livery"

Thanks for that duc, and I'd got as far myself without finding an explanation! Maybe the R is the usual shorthand for 'racing' or somesuch and the VE stands for Villa d'Este? If it was a Japanese factory, they'd be sure to let us know what the acronyms stood for.
