What's your rear spring height set to? I read it can be lowered from 33" to 31".

Bike is standard. Lowerd version is only with a lowerd seat. In the manual it says 4cm lower than standard. For me it's ok.

Could have swore technical docs released said its adjustable from 33.5" to 31.7". Anyone?

gkmapv, can you list oil type, quantity and filter info from manual?

That is 3.17 gallons U.S., and just over 47 mpg. Thanks for that report.

Sounds like we should get an honest 200 miles out of a tank, if you keep your wrist under control

Yes an honest 200 miles per tank if you can stay off of the twisty thingy....

I think they were referring to the optional seats that will be available. If you increase the sag on the rear shock you will start to effect the handling. I know on a Tiger you can lower it by changing out the shock link but you need to raise the forks up in the triple clamps to maintain the same rake.

From Duc's site:

"Seat height 850mm - 830mm - 810mm (33.5in - 32.7in - 31.9in )"

So far, I've only read of one optional seat. This leads me to believe the rear strut height is adjustable, which has been the case on every bike I've owned.

from manual : oil type = Shell Advance 4T Ultra : 3,4dm³(liter) SAE 15W50
no info about oilfilter.

Manual: normal seat 85cm / ground clearance 17,8 cm ----- with lowerd seat (Sella bassa) 81cm / ground clearance 16cm !

I have the standardn bike (85cm) and I find the ground clearance not excessive so with a lowered seat:confused:

this seat height issue has me perplexed. I have changed rear ride height on coil-over struts many times in the past on sport bikes.

why would changing the seat mess with ground clearance?

It shouldn't. From the pictures doesn't seem to be a way to adjust ride height with shock. Could be a spacer at the top like on the Monster 1100, but no way to tell from pictures.

seat height

hi
i posted a note about the 3 seat heights on the site earlier (called - seat height)
there are 2 seats that change the height by 2cm
there are 2 models of strada - the standard one and the lowered one (a special order)
the standard bike seat heights are 850mm and 830mm (lower seat)
the low bike seat heights are 830mm and 810mm (lower seat)

lame. It would be nice if they fit lowered seat free of charge, if that's what fits better.

Today I did a small trip with the misses and the bike dives very hard when braking hard. Again I heard some strange noise in the fork! Ok, you sit foreward but I think I'm going to ask my dealer what he can do. Maybe stiffer springs or other oil? Am I wrong, but you can only adjust the rear shock and not the front fork?

Only the SP has adjustable front forks. You can play around with raising the oil level some to help with resisting the dive and a heavier fork oil will help too. The next step would be to see a suspension specialist and get a spring made for your weight.

That's a bummer. I felt some dive on my demo ride. Hey, first mod: SP forks.

Putting SP forks on would involve SP tripple calmps as well.

I was thinking Ohlins forks off an 1000 or 1100 Multistrada SP which are 43 mm units.....

Ohlins front tubes were laying everywhere near the back of my dealer's shop. The gold jobbies would look legit up front on my alpine white HS.
