Hyperstrada or hypermotard

Apparently the first Hypermotards are deliverd in Belgium this week. Now I can't wait to my new Strada! Unfortunately winter is still in town :( -3°

I know that a Starda is on his way to my dealer but probably I will know next saturday if it will be my bike or my neighbours one. Fingers crossed! I have bought wheelstrips (half one's) which I'm going to deliver on my dealer saturday to put them on the bike.

Me too when I first saw pictures of the Hyperstrada, with the luggage attached, I thought it looked perfect, but someone know if a full-face crash helmet can be stored in this side luggage ! It's very important.

Call Ducati directly oco!! As you see there are no Hstrada delivered yet there

Back to the topic at hand

The main differences between the two bikes is besides color the Hyperstrada also has these items

1. Touring screen*
2. Touring seat*
3. Passenger grab-handles*
4. Side luggage*
5. Centre stand*
6. Engine sump guard*
7. 2 x auxiliary 12v power outlets
8. Enhanced generator
9. Extended front and rear mudguards

Something else I found interesting

"instrumentation console has been designed with warning lights across the upper section, which illuminate for neutral, turn signals, high-beam, rev-limit, oil pressure and fuel reserve and an LCD screen with dot matrix area below for all other information. The screen presents data for speed, rpm, total mileage, trip1/trip2, engine coolant temperature and ambient air temperature and time. Additionally, the display also presents current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, average speed, and journey time."

I received today a new picture from Ducati (a long way to had this picture !) : a full-face crash helmet can be stored in side luggage ! I post the picture on "Ducati Hyperstrada Pictures"

They received one Hyperstrada at Lyon (France) and I will go to see it this wee-end with more pictures may be and informations about the real capacity of the side luggage.

Yeehaa!!!!! Just got phone from my dealer that our bikes are delivered! Tomorrow directly to him and see when we can get them. Hopefully the registrationpapers are already to the dealer. Last time I lost 3 weeks for a new numberplate!!!! Belgium and administration, nope, not the best combination! I hope to post some pics tomorrow.

Great news! The weather is getting nice here so the wait is killing me.

I just returend from my dealer. The bike is irresistible!! They have to complete the bike this week ( screen, luggage, wheelstrips, gps mount). No registrationpapers so it will be next week (dependent on the administration in Belgium :(:(:(). Hopefully the weather will be a lot better as now.

Some findings :

1. I'm 1,80m and I have a "normal" Strada but I can't put my feet completely on the ground. No problem for me but when you're smaller I think you need definitely a lowerd seat!

2. One 12V charger on the left side under the sidepanel and the other one behind the rear shok. You can't use a car charger because the chargers on the bike are smaller so I need a adjustment for my USB-charger.

3. The passengergrab is not from plastic but is Alu. I Thought to paint it white also but I found it nice in black.

4. The luggage mounts are very small. They are not really notable when the bags are disassembled and then the bike is just the same as a Hypermotard with a screen. Maybe I will paint the silver circles of the mounts black.

5. Very small dashboard! .... When you're used to that off a Monster.

6. numberplate, numberplate, numberplate so I can start riding this thing!!!!!

Sorry for the bad quality of the pics but the workshop was closed this afternoon and I only got my Iphone. The red bike behind my bike is a desmosedici rr. There was also a red testbike in the showroom. They both arrived yersterday. The best birtdaypresent I could get.

Good for you!!

Mine will also be my birthday present only it will be next month before mine arrives here...

Nope, sorry guys. Stil no fu.....g papers. I received an hour ago an e-mail from my dealer that the papers will arrive tomorrow (friday) but with the weekend in front, it will be wednesday, at least, when I got my new numberplate. grrrrrrrrrrr. And next week (thursday) I'm on vacation with my wife and the kids. Or maybe I let them go by themselves so i can pick up my new bike!

Dude, I'd be the first to admit the US Dept of Motor Vehicles is about one step above fungus on the food chain but, riding with a temp dealer tag is pretty sweet. Hell, it's not uncommon to see vehicles with no tag whatsoever jetting around.
