Hyperstrada or hypermotard

Aah, still no registrationpapers!!! you have to wait for the bike. My bike is at the workshop an I have to wait for some stupid VIN papers. It's like you 're in a candyshop and may not touch the sweets. Grrrr Hopefully Monday.

I got the VIN papers today! My bike has 113 as last number in his VIN. So from the first productions!! If everything goes fine this week ( with the Belgium registration office and the insurancecompany) I will have my bike (maybe) wednesday. Then I can take pics with my reflexcamera.

Does somebody know how to post a selfmade video overhere?

Finally I got my bike today and I must say : IMPRESSIVE!
What a difference with my Monster. This bike is so much more comfortable. No hard ride, everything went easy. A dreambike and that after just 50km!!!!! With the Monster I had a strange feeling after my first ride (maybe because I came from a Honda) but today I know I bought THE bike for me. Just a bicycle.

First impressions:

- the clutch is very light
- very light steering
- I rode only in touringmode (weatherconditions) but the throttleresponse was very smooth and no hard enginebreaking when you release the throttle (not agressive like the Monster)
- very good wind protection with the standard screen
- Brembo's working fine
- small issue : when I use the sidestand(?) I always touched the footrests with my pants and it rolled from my boots. Not very comfortable when it's cold:):):)
- The bike is much much much nicer without the bags!
- very easy to disassemble the bags
- I used also my Iphone on the bike and it worked fine.
- Just one disadvantage for me : The two 12V sockets are small one's and don't work with an USB-connector. Any idea?
- Very comfortable for the misses ;):p
- And finally : I think I will have to study a few hours because it's unbelievable how much you can adjust on the dashboard!!! ABS, DTC, even the PINcode of your key!

I took this evening a few pics from my bike (wheelstrips and Ducatilogo from Multistrada front fender). More pics to come one of the next days because I'm om vacation now for a couple days with my wife and the kids, starting tomorrow. One advantage : the weather will be to bad to ride.

Yeah!! Congratulations on taking delivery!!

So the 12V outlets are powerlet outlets?

Powerlet doesn't make anything for the iPhone 5 yet??

Congrats gk! Very jealous, that's the color I ordered too.

You look pretty tall and bike actually looks a bit bigger than other shots I've seen with riders

Did you notice excessive coming from pipe running under right leg?

Have you been kicking bags throwing leg over to mount?

Cheers!

gkmapk, thanks for adding to my pain! Early June for my hyperstrada...I hope. You certainly confirmed that I made the right choice and waiting for the bike will be rewarded!
Have fun!!! And keep posting your reports. Aloha!

Congrats gkmapv.

I'm still about two months away from seeing a hyperstrada in person

All thanks for the reactions!! I will post this weekend a few pics without the bags and with the IPhoneholder. I sincerely hope that, all of you guys, may receive your bikes as soon as possible!

@gatdammit :I'm 1,80m (??inches) and the bike is just fine for me. but when you're smaller then you will have to order certainly a lowerd seat (like my neighbour). -- No problems with the exhaust.

@jerdog53: 2 12V oulets for max 4A

@ SuperTen: thanks a lot. I will have a look. My dealer tried it with a USB, 12V and a Coyote (speedradardetectionsystem) and it burned the Cotoye:(

I am becoming green with envy! After such a long wait and deafening silence from both the dealer and distributor/ importer here in Oz I had almost forgotten that such a thing as a Hyperstrada existed - or at least was reputed to!

To all those who now have the bike, or who are about to get it, I do hope that the wait has been worthwhile and that satisfaction is at 100%+++.

And I also look forward to reading some reports and comments both here and in the motorcycling press...

I rode today a few km's and I have to say the bike is a dream! In comparison to my Monster M1100 this bike is much more fun. Not so agressive. Maybe because it's a watercooled engine i.s.o. aircooled?

Like I promised a few pictures without the bags, the IPhone and the dashboard! Like I told before you will have to study a few hours with all the ppossibilities.:D

Great pics! Bet you get lots of "what the hell is that" looks.

-can you set rpm light?
-is that the stock wind screen? Looks bigger than in other photos

This is the stock screen and for me it's very good. No problem at 140km/h.
Middle warninglight is DTC/revlimiter. I saw a few other bikers on a gasstation and they didn't say much but sometimes an expression says more than words!!

Today my neighbours bike arrived at the dealer and he managed to tell me that my bike is not full power at this moment !!!!! Because I was one off the first to get his bike in Belgium, the dealership had not yet received the first softwareupdate????

In Belgium there is no importer so the motorcycles come through france. In france every bike is limited to 100bhp for tax reasons. So at this moment I have 100 iso 110 bhp. grrrr.

Next saturday is the national Ducati Hyperstrada introduction in Belgium at the dealers so I think I'm going to pay him a visit and ask for the necessary explanations.

After 600 miles first service = 110bhp update!

This weekend nice weather and 250km with this funbike. The more miles the bigger the smile!!!! I did 230km with a full tank. What do you think? Bike rides better in touring mode because in sportmodus there are bigger on-off reactions and that is not pleasant with a passenger.

One remark : when you brake hard (or maybe very hard according to the passenger) the fork makes noice and goes completely to the end:confused: Maybe stronger springs or thicker oil?

Please guys, post some pics when you have your bike. Meanwhile a few pics from today. An empty industrial park so ... ;):):):):):):):):) Look at pic 3 = 1,80m tall and no complete feet on the ground:)

Yes we certinally will post photos once ours arrived!

Interesting about the front forks and the hard breaking.
240 km equals 150 miles how many gallons did you use?
