There's other reasons to sell the covers. I'm sure few "waterproof" bags are truly waterproof. They should just make a universal fit with a drawstring or something.

I am also getting a V47 top case for trips

Hello ambientscape,

Any news on the givi rain covers? I've been checking the givi site but there is still nothing to be found.
Looks like we all want a set.

The covers will collect water at the bottom during heavy rains and it isnt practical. They still
Havent come back to me then on the development.

Thanks for the reply.
I had rain covers like that on previous panniers(bags). I used to make holes in the bottom of the covers to drain the water. The water collected in the covers comes from the splashing of the rear tyre. A rain guard over the rear tyre doesn't help that much. I know this from experience during a rainy trip of 13 hrs thru France. There was a small bucket full of water inside the cover and inside the bag :( . Lateron I started to make these holes in the covers and they do the trick.

No. They are the e22 model (22 liters each) which I think is the same size as stock, but water proof and narrower. When I get the v47, it will hold two helmets.

imo, the smaller lighter e22 looks better on the HS than the bulkier trekker cases.
is that the ducati bellevue bracket system you mounted those cases on?
how is it with a pillion passenger?
can you post a photo of without the cases? tia

The roll-top style bags are truly waterproof. They are commonly used for river rafting. I have a set of Ortlieb throw-over saddlebags for my Velo, they are really tough and have never leaked.

thanks for the photos

saw the e22 cases at a local shop here and i'm going back to get it. the ducati bellevue bracket is too rich for me at $399 plus shipping and taxes. so instead, i'm using the givi adapter plate (also available locally) because i'ts cheaper and lighter

pair of e22 cases plus 2 adapter plates for equivalent total of just $365... versus the bellevue bracket ($399+shipping+tax) plus the e22 ($230)

not a difficult decision for me :)

Hmm, that adapter plate does not seem to be offered as anything but a rear rack mount. Do you intend to mount a pair on the sides somehow? Pics, please...

yes, to be used as side plates. i dry-fitted the plate on the bike and it can be done. the honeycomb holes of the plate offer different mounting positions to the oem bracket. just needed to fabricate a set of spacers similar to the bellevue kit in place of the oem spindles (collets?) in order to make room for the grab handles. and yes, i imagine it will look ugly (uglier than the bellevue) just by itself without the cases but it will only take less than 5 minutes to take both plates off, just 6 screws

will post photos of the install soon as...

well, gave it some thought so i was having serious doubts on the reliability of the universal monokey plate when mounted on its side plus, some material will have to be removed to allow for alignment of the mounting holes of the bike to the honeycomb of the plate, further degrading integrity. so i decided to have a mounting plate fabricated out of 10mm aluminum. i posted a thread HERE if anyone's interested. it's still a work in progress

thanks to peoples 1234 for providing some of the measurements

Was washing the bike the other day around sun set and the waning light really brought out the red tones on the tank. Kind of a neat detail shot.
