How was the MV Agusta in person?

There was one in the shop that I was at yesterday when I scored my amazing deal jacket. They're an MV dealership. I gotta say, it's pretty darned nice in person. I can't comment on what it's like running, but based on sitting on the bike and sit seeing it from 3 inches away [great fit and finish] it's the first bike that I'd consider buying if - for some reason - I couldn't own a Hyper anymore. The KTM SMT would be a close, close second.

Very nice bike but.....not a Ducati!! When you see it coming it's like a early hypermotard but you hear the 3 cilinder noice. I think it's a bike for fun but not to do trips of +300km.
Rider told me brakes a very "scary". Don't touch the brakes in a corner or... Lot of punch at low revs.

It was a demobike from the dealer. Last week we had a new Monster 1200 and a 899 Panigale. Especially the monster is a big surprise. Wheelbase longer, more stability, powerfull engine. Nice, very nice.

Slaying The Dragon...over and over

I've had mine about three weeks. Here it is on the day I bought it and a shot on US129 running the "Tail of the Dragon" at Deals Gap on the TN/NC border (I live 30 minutes from the Dragon :D). It's awesome for twisty lovers and the engine just keeps on giving. I changed to stickier Michelin Pilot Power 3 tires, added frame/axle sliders (just in case) and have a tail tidy on order. Cheers!

Brought this bike on a 1000km trip to the central of Vietnam. Hell of a journey......butt soaring trip with rough terrain and bad drivers attitude to be constantly on watch out.

The hyper got a lot of beating throughout this journey...

Ambientscape,

Reminds me of a Top Gear episode were they rode scooters across the whole country...or was it Thailand?

Are those Givi covers fit over stock bags? If so, are they truly waterproof?

The top gear episode was featured in Vietnam with the rides from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi.

The GIVI waterproof cover was an experimental for the Hyperstrada panniers as am a close friend to the factory general director here. They are trying making it for Hyperstrada. It still need more adjustment to fit it......I think we will see it on the market very soon.

The covers fit well. Have you rain tested? Do they flap at speed?

Yes...fully water proof! It flaps during high speed that's where it fails at this point . They are redesigning it to eliminate those.

They even gave me a fluorescent yellow covers to test...but I took the black ones instead. :p

Having those bulky luggage strap on the Hyper will somehow affect the aerodynamics. I feel the bike wobble slightly at about 140kmh....

I am interested in the covers. Let me know when it is available for purchase.

Thanks Jerdog! Ambientscape, the large bag on the back was only a temporary solution. It was to carry camping gear out to Joshua Tree, a National Park near where I live, as part of a quick touring run. Things will be a lot more streamlined once I install an MTS top case I'm ordering and pick up some new smaller size/weight camping gear. That said, I got her up to about 110 MPH in a few spots with the above setup and she seemed quite stable. I just had to bring my weight forward into more of an attack position as I normally do anyways with higher speeds and more aggressive riding

Hehe, thanks :)

In Germany, the SP costs approximately ~20500$

How much is the Gas in Vietnam? Round about 2,1$ / 1 Litre Super95 here :(

$20,500 only can get a hyperstrada. We only have Ron 92 & 95....price at $1.20/liter. Fuel quality is crap here.

nice to see a photo of the hyperstrada with its big brother, all decked out in touring gear... and that is a fantastic view. photo is good enough for a ducati ad poster. thanks for sharing
