Dear All,

I have been riding my 2nd hand (11.200km) Hyper every single day to work for 1 year and problems all started with burned out ECU with no reason at 17.000 km on it, Service have both changed ECU and display with new set of keys.. after bike laid in Istanbul service for 6 monhts ( all parts were guaranty changed) I picked it up, planning some 2000 km trip.. In first portion of trip to İzmir, after 500 km.. I had to lay it in İzmir service this time, since front injector is clogged.. now the bike has been there for 1 month already waiting for IWP 227 injector (no one has it in stock in Turkey)... My question is : is it normal that only one injector can be clogged ? (over 2 bars of pressure it stops working - Bosch Car Service report)... So I have bought only one. injector....

Burak,
Sorry for your trouble. I've been on this forum since inception and cannot ever remember a post of injector issues. I, personally, recommend a can of Sea Foam fuel treatment for every oil change. You can do a deeper intake system clean but it requires the aerosol version and a more car-standard vacuum line. It would be hard to do with the Hyper considering you have to remove the fuel tank to get to the intake section. I'll also add that I have almost 39.000 KM and recent inspection of the intake system showed no carbon buildup on the butterflies or intake tracks. Good luck.

I am also having issues with my front injector. Atleast I think it's the front injector. I keep randomly getting an engine code that says the front cylinder is running lean. I have added large amounts of fuel to the front cylinder through the tuner but it still pops up. So much fule that I was getting excessive carbon around the exhaust tip. It's random and the bike will sputter from time to time between 4-5k rpm. My injectors are the IWP 227. I took them both out and bench cleaned them under power while activated and they seemed to spray fine. I have opened the wiring harness and found no issue. I replaced the fuel pump, spark plug coils(Aprilia coils. Had the old style Aprilia coils and went to the new one with the ferrite bead on line), spark plugs, reset the tuner and a few other things and the same issue remains. The original injectors are 4 hole design. I know there must be an upgrade so I am in persuit of what that upgraded injector is and then tracking it down. 20210710_173308_resize_19.jpg20210710_173313_resize_98.jpg20210710_173249_resize_25.jpg20210710_173302_resize_66.jpg

You think the tuner could handle increased fuel rate? Would the OEM pump push more fuel?

I think so. The tuner is capable of allowing more flow through the OEM injectors. I'm not really looking for more flow though. I'm looking for one with more holes in the injector with the same flow rate which will help with atomization. I believe the 950 uses a 12 hole injector for that reason(better atomization), they also changed the location of injector in the 950 but I would think that with how close the injector is to the head more holes would be beneficial.
