Well after over six years and 29k miles I've decided to fit additional lights (should have done this a long time ago). I've gone for Denali 2.0 D2 TriOptic LED Motorcycle Motorbike Light Kit with the Denali 2.0 DataDim Dual-Intensity Controller. The mounts are Denali fork mounts.
This should allow me to have additional daytime driving lights and then extra bright when I switch to the high beam.
