After much research I decided to bite the bullet and buy a rear shock. The 2 I narrowed it down to was Nitron and Mupo(I'm not a fan of Ohlins for silly petty reasons). Obviously I ended up with Mupo and so far I'm very happy. It came spring and set up for my weight along with a testing print out. Anyways, here it is. Looks better, it's about a half pound lighter and now I have preload, high speed compression, low speed compression, rebound and overall length adjustability. The oem sachs has a 14mm piston rod, the Mupo 16mm. Strait out of the box it was set for overall length and preload was measuring out to 30+-% total sag. No twisting of the dials yet Once it warms up more I can push harder in the turns and really see but first couple rides I'm no longer getting bucked on the normal areas I would get bucked.

Crash test target? I thought it meant it was nuclear-powered!

I put a basic Nitron shock on my 650 Cagiva Raptor, and it came with a spring that was heavier than OEM, despite my request for something to match my light weight. There was no sag at all! It had to go back to be changed, so you probably went the better route with the MUPO. Very impressive documentation!

That dynograph tells me it will be a rather stiff feeling shock.
Even though I'm 250lbs? Cant the stiffness be dialed out with the compression? The wire gauge of the oem vs the Mupo are about the same. So far it does not feel stiff at all. I realize that the 30% sag was achieved with very little preload but there is definitely room to back it off.

backing off low speed compression can help with a more supple ride over small bumps. At 30% sag it sounds like the spring is set about right for you, but as these bikes have long travel you can always go higher on sag for a softer ride as long as you match the front and rear. Trade off with increased sag is of course more suspension movement under acceleration and braking forces.

The adjusters will do a little bit but considering the graph it is definitely a performance oriented tune.

Can't go wrong with the Mupo, it's better than Ohlins with a better (higher) than Ohlin's price but I am not disappointed, feels like best I've every had...

How many days in total to build the shocks and reach you? You must have ordered this from WRS?

@Araitim, there are 2 versions of AB1 shocks listed on WRS- one for the kayaba and the other for non kayaba, how did you determine which is the correct fit for the bike?
And generally is the AB1 Evo worth the extra $$ over the non Evo model?

Probably get dual-speed dampening. That's the exclusive perk that cost buku bucks. I have a top tier Ohlins and the only thing it doesn't have is dual speed dampening. If I had the extra cash, I would get it. If you only ride one medium - highway or urban - probably a waste.

I went with the one with the high and low speed compression. I selected the one for the base model hypermotard 821. The hyperstrada is shorter and the SP is longer but I'm thinking that the same shock will fit all 3 due to it's ability to adjust overall length but don't quote me on that. Im not to sure of the other options other than a piggyback style which Is the one I went with. I figured it was better to have and not need vs need and not have plus they were willing to work with me on the price.

What's the price you paid? If I can ask.

I got it from WRS.it a few years back. It looks like they don't offer it anymore at that site. There is a TTX for the 821/939 used on eBay right now for $600 right now. That is a great deal if it's in good shape. I didn't look too deep into it . Just something that popped up for me
