I guess it depends on what you are going to use your HS for, but the best tidying of the tail IMO is to remove all the luggage supports. I also fitted CF HM tail panels and it looks very sleek, even with the OEM plate and indicator supports still proudly jutting out!

Yeah I am going to remove the luggage supports and grab handles for HM ones eventually! Looks better

So what difference did the racing seat make? Is it as comfortable on the bum as the OEM one? I can see it gives more room to slide back so the riding triangle is more relaxed but unless the flatness is simply due to a reduction in the pillion section, I presume the rider's section is narrower and higher? I'm getting curious!

I have 3 seats for the bike. The original 'Low' version, the 'Standard' and the 'Racing'. I found that the first two kept me locked into position and i would be really uncomfortable after a longish ride of 90 minutes or more. I debated getting a Corbin but in Canadian dollars, i was looking at nearly $1000. The racing seat was slightly more then half of that price. I was worried that it would place me too high and make me feel like i was more 'over the bars'. I had also wondered if i would have an issue with needing to tip toe at a stop. Neither of those concerns came about. My HS is the factory Low version. I find the seat is nearly as comfortable as any custom seat i have. All my bikes have replacement seats. I have Seat Concepts on a couple bikes, an Enduro Engineering on the EXC and the R1100RT has a Sargent. I've never ridden with a Corbin but i have a friend that swears by them. I had a chance to try a HS with a Corbin but never took advantage of the opportunity (the bike had leaking fork seals and the front wheel and caliper were coated in oil). So i don't know if the Corbin would be the ultimate choice but for my dollars, the racing seat is money well spent. I find that between the added padding and the ability to move about on the seat (even though i don't find myself doing it very much) makes the ride much more pleasurable.

Thanks for your comments, Brad. Not knowing your height (I'm 5'6"), the most telling point is that your HS is the low version whereas my HS is the original 2013 tall one. It would be a help to see the OEM seat and racing one pictured together to understand where the differences are. I reckon that's been done here before so I must check it out before I go looking for a race seat!

Thanks Brad,

It seems I've been around this discussion before and come to the conclusion that I'm already on the best seat for me. "Discussion closed" I said in the final post of the subject you linked-to but, like most of us I guess, I'm always interested in improvements. Perhaps I should try to improve my memory!

That GPR exhaust is handsome. How does it sound? I’ve been thinking about putting a slip-on on mine. Still undecided between GPR’s white-ceramic or a Sil Motor carbon fiber. I’m looking for deeper tone but not unrestricted booming.

It sounds loud with the 2 baffles out. I havent tried it yet with both baffles in or just 1 in. Its pretty loud without any but I can imagine it will be a nicer sound with them in or 1 in, I'll have to try
