Hi,
I’m looking to buy stock rear light and signals. I’ll take the full stock tail kit too if you have it.
Thanks
Jeff

I may have stock rear signals. I'll check and get back with you.

Theres an ebay seller in china selling a tail light. I bought one and so far it is working well and the fit is exact. I know its kinda hard to find these tail lights used.

Honestly, I would just go with LEDs. I'm sure there's affordable options and they are pretty universal as long as you get the right resistor package.

Hi Krolinked, how bright is the tail light you purchased? I have a smoked one that is very dim. If you could send me the link I'd appreciate it.

Hey gatdammit, when you say go with LEDs, are you referring to buying a new integrated tail kit with LEDs, or buying LED strips and doing a little DIY?

Jeff

I mean LED signal stalks, like Ducati Performance or Rizoma (these are not cheap high-end retail). My R&G tail kit is pretty universal - like you could mount any basic signals. The DP ones I have are just a bolt end with a nut. The OEM are similar but used some funky diamond-shaped spacers to mate to the OEM mount location. If that R&G you have now has mount locations for signal stalks, I'd just get some LED signals and redo the wiring. You can run into issues without running a resistor for the LED to OEM wiring, but this is pretty universal these days. Some of the smarter electron patrons on here could help you find some eBay models that would work.

Thanks gatdammit. I'll do a close inspection and see if there are mount locations. I was hoping to today, but work had better ideas for me...

I got a closer look this evening. The integrated brake/signal unit definitely looks like LED and not bulbs. I think the LEDs switch between red and orange depending on whether the turn signal is on or not. I also don't see any mount locations for signal stalks. To make matters worse, while the right signal works, the left signal flashes 2-3 times, then goes out and the signal indicator on the dash blinks very quickly.

I think there is a wiring problem on top of the poor visibility of the lights under the smoked lens.

I attached two close up photos in case I'm missing seeing mount points, and to show the LEDs. It was getting a little dark outside so the lights were more visible than in full daylight. I took a couple of really short videos to show what was happening, but the forum isn't letting me upload video.

Re: forum etiquette - should I move this conversation over to the technical discussions?

Ya, my R&G definitely has signal mounts that yours is missing. That flash pattern happens when bulb is out or circuit is broken. I think not having the right resistor for LEDs can cause issues, too.

I'm going to a dealership tomorrow. They have a Evotech Performance tail/brake light, and a pair of stalks in stock (but no stock tail section).

Anyone have experience with Evotech Performance tail/brake light?

Thanks all for your guidance.

Jeff

Evotech makes decent crash protection stuff but never seen any of their lighting flair. Good fit and finish. Should be decent.

So the dealership put aside a Evotech tail tidy kit, not a tail light.... Waste of a trip.

I ordered the stock tail kit and signals from another more knowledgeable dealer. Not cheap!

Hi Jeff:

As mentioned by others, your R&G kit looks a lot different than the other members have. I have one in a box and it is only a fender eliminator kit (no tail light) and you can reuse your stock turn signals.

Looks like PO got a non-R&G integrated tail light combo and just added the R&G license plate light.

oh.... and I'm also in Toronto. Welcome fellow strada owner!
