Silencer clamp removal help needed

Hey guys,

I'm trying to remove the large clamp that's holding the silencer to the header. I can easily undo the nut, but I don't think the clamp itself is moveable by hand. I've seen some people making their own tools for some other bikes, but I'm curious to see if anyone successfully removed the clamp from Hyperstrada/motard without scratching/damaging anything. Ideally, I'd like to buy or make a correct tool so I can swap the silencer easily.

The service manual just simply says

Loosen the clamp (1).
Loosen screw (2) securing silencer to footpeg (3).
Remove the silencer.

And that's not really helping.

TIA for your advice.

You just have to loosen it enough so that it's very loose, and you can slide the muffler right off easily. I have taken it off a couple times and never had any issues. You might also try sliding the clamp one way first once it is loosened.

Thanks Patrick. Mine is not really easy to slide or loosen. Seems like the long bolt and the clamp (closer to the nut side) are not really perpendicular to each other, making the loosening hard. I didn't want to force anything but I guess I might have to tap it a little with hummer or maybe make a tool to expand/loosen the clamp (long bolt and a nut or something).
