SOS ! Help me about hyperstrada dashboard !!

Yesterday, my HS dashboard got the problem, the engine light, oil light, blink light, rpm bar , temperature water were flicking, fan turn on, I switch off and on the key few times but it still flicking, I can't start the engine ! The mechanic said my dash was broken, he said I have to replacement new dash, about 1000$ dollar ! My HS out of warranty, so that is the very bad news !

I'm from Vietnam, very difficult to shipping the oem part of Ducati ! Could anybody help me to resolve this problem ? Thanks !

Ducati should replace it even if it's out of warranty. It's a known issue with this bike.

Warranty of Ducati Vietnam is 2 years ! So my HS would not be replacement for free ! 1000$ is a big money in Vietnam ! so i need to buy 2nd dash, anybody could sell for me 1 ??

my ducati had the electronic throttle problem . it was 1 year out of warranty but because i told them i knew it was a recall in the usa ,ducati replaced it for free as a good will gesture.
it is worth pointing out to the dealer that you know the dashboard is a known poorly made component to see if they will do anything . Your dealer will probably just try to make you pay ,but make them contact ducati direct whilst you are there to see if ducati will help.

probably it's not only the dashboard, but also the ECU and the front ignition coil.
actually, most probably the ignition coil caused/ruined dashboard and ecu.
in other countries ducati does handle it with goodwill, even out of warranty, as long as all services have been done.

The mechanic said my dashboard was broken, just replacement! ECU, BBS, coil are fine ! Now I finding a 2nd dash for my HS !

Ps: the error message on my dash is "CAN LINE", what is mean ??

maybe no conncection to CANbus ?

i must say i agree with you there... it is hard enough trying to explain what can bus is in english to english people i work with.(i work at a truck dealership and it takes a lot of explaining how it works to apprentices.)

I did used google, but that so difficult to understand, I just know CAN is "Controller Area Network", but I don't know exactly what is it ! I think I could not do anymore to repair the dash ! Anyone who know the price and the website of oem Ducati ( the dashboard ) ? Thanks

I don't think you're gonna get away with just a dash mate; the symptoms you describe in OP have been experienced by a good few of us here (myself included) and all needed front coil and ECU too..

Have you tried a new battery yet? It's worth a try.

I just asked my dealer (Duc Vietnam), the good news is only the dash broken, everything else is ok !

Anyone tried 2nd dash (I found on ebay cost 500$) ? Is it working ? I asked my dealer, he said just the new dash(1000$) working , I so confused !!

I still don't understand why you don't contact Ducati directly. They will fix it.

I contacted Ducati Vietnam, they will replace the dash with the fee(1000$) because my HS out of warranty! I make this thread because I want to fix my dash with lowest cost ! I save the money in 3 years to buy Hyperstrada, and my HS is 2nd bike ( cost 16.000$ for 2nd , 24.000$ for the new ) ! In vietnam, tax is very high !

I hope I could find the way to fix problems of Hyperstrada with the lowest cost ! Good day everyone !

Did your dealer try a new dahsboard and everthing worked fine again with your bike ? Or did he only tell you that only dashboard is broken ?
Because, as of your error and problem, it seems to be the same known problem from my link and not only the dahsboard.

Ok I understand now

I would fight with them more. This is a known flaw with the bike and they know better.

They only thing you should expect to pay is labor for your dealer to replace the parts.

Agreed. I was ~1000 miles short of my Desmo service so I haggled a little and got them to waive the labour charge if I booked it in for the service.

OP - I really would push on this a bit more. How gutted are you gonna be if you wait all that time to get a dash in, and then you find that the ECU & front coil is also ******? Definitely push harder on this man.

Thanks all of you, bros ! Glad to talk with you, the mechanic of Ducati checked ECU, BBS, all of sensors, he said everything is ok , but the dash ! He said almost hyperstrada in Asian ( Factory of Ducati in Thailand ) get the dash problem, and I very unlucky for out of warranty! I have ordered the new dash and wait 3 weeks (1.300$ for new dash + reprogram ) !
