I have a Hyperstrada on order and have placed an order for the Ducati Top Box, touring Screen & Heated grips as intend to use the bike for long distance touring.

I have noticed a couple of Forum Members have mounted a GIVI top box, I believe using existing after market racks that fit the Multistrada. My question- HOW STRONG is the standard Ducati mounting with the accessory rack and a 47 litre top box.

The Ducati mounting rack comes with support brackets underneath which would not be available for the Hyper via GIVI at present. The Ducati Box is $960 in Oz, and I can fit a rack (from a Multi) and a Givi box for about $500 to $600.

Any feedback on the GIVI option is appreciated.

Just back from trip to Mena, Ar. or 510 miles in 2 days. I run the Givi 36L topcase on Alt_rider topplate. It has no support just mounted to the grabrails. It does fine, I only had about 15 lbs of junk in there tho.

BAZ (greetings from sunny Qld). Save yourself a lot of dosh and look at top-boxes from Third Gear (Google it).

I have just fitted an excellent BMW-quality 28L box to my BMW at a cost
of a mere $49. Takes a full-face helmet - quality and finish excellent. Comes with a universal PE rack and various fastenings, and they also do a 51L version that takes 2 x helmets for a meagre $69. It looks to me lot like a GIVI equivalent.

Let me know how you get on...

Only thing I'm not seeing on aftermarket top boxes is the integrated back rest for passengers, which Duc box has. It will be nice option for wife/kids.

True, I bought the backrest in addition to the Givi 36L.
