Valve checks. What's your guess in cost?

I'm likeing this bike more and more that I look at it and the initial price isn't to bad seeing as how you get a lot of stuff for that price. My biggest concern is how much maintenance will cost me.

I've never owned a Ducati and I have done nearly all maintenance on my bikes in the past except for valve checks. My yearly mileage is just over 10000 so I'm not liking the idea of $1200 valve checks.

How much do you think they will run?

You realize it is totally subjective to the location and what the market will bare for pricing? I have heard for the 1200 Multistrada anywhere from as low as $600 to as much as $1000. Why don’t you call your local dealer and as the service manager to quote the job then you know for sure.

I am aware it is subjective to location. I can't call because I'm currently deployed to the middle east until August. I have to live vicariously through other peoples opinions and comments until I can get home

Thanks though.

I asked about this today at a houston dealer. Talked to the service writer and he said 750.00

Yep, that's what I got after a few emails. $750.00 Not bad I guess assuming that includes parts and oil/filter, etc.

I think that is reasonable

You could also do it yourself. I have a video around someplace that shows how to do it on a monster. Basically the same engine. If anybody's interested i could post it here.

Its a little different but once you learn how to do it you own that procedure.

Edit: check out the videos here. http://www.ducatitech.com/
And you might check out California cycleworks as well.

Just the thought of having a Ducati serviced through a dealer in Australia makes my eyes water...

Thankfully there are plenty of non dealer options out there.
