What'd you do to your Hyperstrada today?

I just checked the link for the Moto LED's...$45!!! Sold.

-Did they come with enough wire?
-Did you just splice into high beam lead and where did you splice?
-I know they don't draw very much current, but do you think it is stressing the generator/battery with duals and the high beam on in use?

This week I fitted an SW Moto Tech Quick-Lock Evo Daypack tank bag to my Alu Rack using the Quick-Lock adapter. :D

It is great little bag, with the emphasis on little. Perfect for the day ride, or over night run in expanded mode. I was inspired to make this investment by the lack of pockets in my summer fully ventilated jacket and my desire to avoid the use of the backpack or panniers on short runs.

I have my emergency tire repair kit, molded ear plugs (with speakers) and the rain cover on board at all times now and can chuck in the Gopro, charging accessories and a few personal essentials for the quick day or day plus 1 run.

The bag has a quick release mechanism that works really well and has an anti theft locking mechanism inside the bag and you can add the zipper lock as on the Hyper's panniers.

- Enough wire, yes.
- Splice into the connector going into the headlight house.
- 60W extra, the generator is 490W.

The wire to the headlight is only 0.75 mm2. Maybe you get a little dip in voltage when stressing that wire with 60W+60W instead of 60W.

Thanks, StefanR. Mine are in the mail. I'll let you know if I run in to any problems. Electrical is not my strong suit.

Just started fitting a FIAMM horn, at the same location as the "old scooter" horn.
It's loud now but I'm not really satisfied......
Try too make it a bit better fitted. Took the front off to make it easier to access.

Regards.

Some pictures, please

Installed:

1. 14T superlite front sprocket (nicer around town)
2. Rizoma billet rear brake reservoir (got rid of that ugly plastic one)
3. Rizoma 4D Aspheric mirrors (can hardly describe how much nicer it makes the bike feel to me as the OEM mirrors felt like garbage)
4. R100 GPS mount for Garmin Zumo 390
5. R&G Tail Tidy kit

And stripped the fairings off the bike to prep it for a new paint job! ;)

Nice mirrors. I guess you can tighten them at the joints so they don't move? And what's the dotted line represent on the mirror face?

Is the brake reservoir not see-through?

Thanks! Yes, they don't move. Dotted line is the aspheric part of the mirror and allows you to see in your blind spot. Billet reservoir is not see-through. Don't see why I would need it to be?

So you can check the fluid level without opening it up and exposing it to moisture?

I like the mirrors, but for nearly $200 each? And that tail tidy will really put mud and water up your back...

Why would the tail tidy put mud and water up my back?

And why would you need to check the fluid level? Brake fluid does not get evaporate. And exposing it to the open air? What's the problem with that?

Because it will do nothing to stop it.

More importantly, how do the mirrors work? I've been eyeing them for some time now.

I don't understand. How far back do you guys sit? I'm crunched way up against the tank. I could imagine a passenger hanging off the back maybe getting some overspray, but I don't see how I would be getting any where I'm sitting.

Mirrors would great. What do you want to know about them?

I really like the gps mount. Was it hard to install? I have my Zumo on a Ram mount off to one side. I looked up the R100 mount quickly, $219.00 seems kind of pricey. Anyone seen them cheaper? Or any other center mount options?

I had a Ram mount but didn't like it... was too bulky for me and wanted something that looked nicer. I got my R100 for $165 including shipping. Pricey still, but worth it. Very easy to install. Probably the easiest thing on my bike to install thus far. LOL!

Got it from EPM Performance Imports. They had a special 15% off when I ordered. Not sure if they still do.

You haven't ridden through a puddle yet, have you?

My neighbourhood is under construction, so very muddy. My back seat, tail light, and me all had mud sprayed all over. The stock fender does very little to stop the fling, so I imagine the tail tidy will do even less.

Looks good though!
