So exactly what is the difference between the hyper and the strada , is it the height and what else , I'm wanting the strada for its windscreen and comfortable seat , but I love the black hyper with red frame , I'm told you can put the strada seat on it and the small clear windshield from the strada, I don't really need the bags

Hypermotard: kerb weight 198kg
Seat height. 870mm
Wheelbase 1500mm
Hyperstrada: kerb weight 204kg
Seat height 850mm
Wheelbase 1490mm
Plus the handlebar is 20mm higher than the motard.
The differences may seem minimal, but they are not when you drive the two bikes. Have a test drive before decide 'the color'.

Not a lot of difference, unless you're talking about the SP which has much tastier (and taller) Ohlins suspension. Otherwise the Hypermotard and Hyperstrada are virtually the same except for the seat and touring equipment. You can certainly "Stradify" a standard Hypermotard with the screen and seat from the strada, and in fact virtually all of the strada bits will fit the standard Hypermotard. Either way it's a fantastic bike!

I just went through this same comparison at the dealer. They had both, seat height seemed the same.

Half front fender on the Motard
Bigger hugger on HyperStrada
Hydraulic preload adjustable rear shock with rebound adjustment on HyperStrada
No adjustment on suspension for Motard.
Seats are interchangeable
centerstand on Hyperstrada (very very easy to put down)
Engine guard on Hyperstrada
Larger seat on Hyperstrada
2 powerlet ports on HyperStrada

The SP has the best suspension but is T A L L L.

I feel safe saying most of the guys that weren't on the fence and put deposits down on the Strada had distance/touring and fun at top of their list.

I wish I could adjust fronts since I'm not a huge fan of the dive. Now, this could be the very good breaks doing their job and I'll learn to modulate as the miles tick. Honestly, somebody already said it, but the engine breaks so well that I basically feather the rear to when I need it, and that's not even that often.

Not the most traveled rider, but this is the most comfortable stock seat (Strada) I've ever sampled. It beats the very nice Corbin I bought for my R6 back in the day.

my dealer will give me a strada for 12645.00 since i have purchased many bikes from him. i like the strada very much, will i use the bags ...i dont know that i will ever. I do really like the colors of the hyper , the black with red frame and the SP. of course they are much more , so i dont know what i am doing at this moment in time. I can get the journey seat [strada seat] for the hyper and you can actually use the little clear windscreen that comes on the strada , I am really liking the SP and the extras it comes with.

oh by the way , im going to put the Multi Pikes Peak up for sale on Ebay this weekend. Now i just have to decide on my hyper or strada... hmmm.....

my dealer stated that the SP and the strada are basically the same bike. stated that i could put the strada seat on the hyper SP for that comfy ride as i felt when i took out the demo strada. now would that lower the seat height ???are the frames the same ??? also states that i can put the clear windshield on the hyper Sp and they make a carbon windscreen similar to the mutistrada pikes peak edition. i really enjoyed the strada ride and if i can make the SP the same comfort level then thats what ill go with , any input would be greatly appreciated . Thanks !!!

They are basically the same bike. Except the Strada is set up more for touring with the wider softer seat, wind screen, bags, center stand and two power outlets for heated gear. The SP has lighter wheels and better suspension components. The SP is also taller and could pose a problem for us vertically challenged individuals.

also has a larger capacity generator for powering all the extras

Is it just the seat that makes it taller or are the frames different ? I think it 33.5 for the strada and 35 for the hyper ? So the comfy seat that's from the strada would drop the height down abit ? I don't need bags or outlets , I like the options of the SP better , wheels, ohlins , color etc .

SP is much taller due to the longer travel suspension. Strada is 5.9" front and rear, SP is much more than that thus taller sitting.
