The first place Im going to visit is the florida keys which are very close to me, that trip Im going to make it to get used to riding the hyper before going in may up to the tail of the dragon.

Where are you guys planning on going with your strada??

I will ride from Windham to Woodstock. Maybe a trip to the Finger Lakes/Watkins Glen area from Windham. Probably 4 hours, depending on the detours on twisty back roads.

I will be at the Tail of the Dragon in May for the East Coast Ducati Meet. So far it looks like about 70 attendees. It's my first time going to this meet, and my second time at the Dragon. It should be a good time.

Can you share details about the East Coast Ducati meet? Where and when? Thanks.

The words East Coast Ducati Meet in the previous post as well as this one are a link to the "official thread". This site doesn't seem to highlight links so that you know they are links. (maybe something for the site admin to look at) Here is the link itself:

Now doesn't that sound like fun!

Unfortunately I will most like be riding to work my first trip but thats ok there are several FF there that will appreciate this bike.

We have been talking about a ride to Telluride so maybe that will be the first road trip.

My non-Ducati buddies are going there at the same time - pure coincidence regarding the timing.

I was really hoping to be able to make it given that it's a Ducati meet, but work is going to intrude :-( Also, I won't have the Hyperstrada as I've decided to go with the Hypermotard [boo hiss...:)]. I've given it a lot of thought and I'd be removing a few of the key add ons for 99.9% of my use [bags, mounts, centre stand which I hate], plus, I prefer the lower bars on the standard Hyper. All said, for me, it makes more sense to get the 'motard and add on the few 'strada goodies that I know I want [rear rack, engine guard, and depending on the 'motard's seat, the wider seat.]

Very unlikely I could attend, either. Work/rebuilding south shore of Long Island post hurricane Sandy means not much spare time.

I'll be leaving here (NB Canada) and driving to deals gap in June actually.

My first trip will probably be west Texas or Arkansas un decided but one of the two for sure. Tentatively have a east coast trip planned in September via the blue ridge mountain parkway then to the east coast up to Maine then head east hitting Niagra and swinging into Canada around the Great Lakes and then south straight down to Texas all in two weeks.

To start it will be my commuter to work. But I am thinking a ride into the Canadian Rockies is in order.

Looks like we will be attending the 2013 Touratech Rally Thursday, June 27th through Sunday, June 30th in the sleepy town of Plain, WA

Stradasphere and Superten you should consider joining us.

I would like to, not sure about my schedule this summer. I'll be watching you guys plan tho. The East Coast fling at Deal's Gap is interesting also.

Wife and I have not been on a trip since Salida, Co. last June with the BMW sport touring bunch. 2 up on the Super Tenere and the Alpine Tunnel was our highlight, that and Jean rode her 696 to Independence Pass!

Wow, you could probably pick up your bike from the factory as easy as I go to my dealer! Must be a fantastic part of the world to live!

*edit*
I just took you're point a and typed the next point to 'Ducati Bologna' and your trip is about 10 km shorter

Until it will not became the third world of Europe, anyway, for sure a nice place where drive motorbikes from mountains to sea in the same day.

Sorry I missed your post. I will certainly come over for the day. Looks like about an 1-1/2 hour run from where I live. With the bike being new and expensive I don't think off road is in my plan. There are some nice twisty asphalt roads in the area to enjoy though. If I had a dual sport I definitely would be there the weekend to play.
