Andreani fork cartridge installed on Hyperstrada

I found the Hyperstrada front end a little harsh for my liking. Did some online searches and found this Andreani fork kit.

This is my first experience buying a Andreani-made fork component. Both the packaging and installation instructions were v good.

A local suspension shop helped with installation. The process took less than 3 hours with more time spent dismantling OEM fork sleeve.

Ride feel is a marked improvement over non-adjustable OEM shocks. Going over large speed bumps didn't send big jolt to handlebar. The recommended settings helps the HS hold a tight line. But on a bumpy road surfaces, it may be too edgy for my liking. Hence I backed off on the rebound and compression and waiting to test new settings later this week.

This is good!

We need a fork thread with sources for upgrades.

Could you post up some links of the sourcs for parts and the shop that did the work please.

I changed to 5wt oil and took 10mm off the springs spacers. I am 185 lbs. Run the shock about 4 clicks back from full preload.

This made the highspeed rebound faster, and less preload was perfect for my rider sag.

Nice. I will do this some day. Think this is possible for the somewhat mechanically inclined?

What did they replace stock fork oil with?

I have a set on order from Omnia Racing in Italy. Hope to get a good result

Interested to know also what oil weight and quantity you used with the Andreani cartridges

Look forward to some more feedback from you on your experience with these cartridges.

I followed the recommended Ohlins oil type, oil level and air chamber gap.

Adjustments for Rebound and Compression are on top of fork unit. The left side is for Rebound, and right side for Compression

I don't think thats what Duke ment when he said Ohlins oil type

I think he ment he followed the Ohlins servicing instructions

Hey Duke39 - I am considering this kit too and was reading the installation instructions that you posted.

How hard was it to remove the inner fork tube from the axle clamp on the left leg ? Looking at mine (still on the bike) I see a grub screw on the inside of the axle clamp, but it does not look like it is meant to be removed easily.

Can someone post the front fork lenght??? I have the low version, and I dont know if it´s the same front fork or if it is different.

I wnat to know if there is difference between normal version and low.

Thanks

Measuring from top of fork (base of nut) to center line of axle = 31-5/8" or 803mm. I have the standard HS.

I hv a good track record of messing things up if I do self-installation. My local suspension specialist did all the work. And the part which took the most time was removing the inner fork tube

Duke 39 - I have a set of the cartridges on order and I wanted to order some preload adjusters to fit on the Pre load adjuster shaft on the Andreani Cartridges. Just wondering you could tell me what diameter the pre load adjuster shaft is?

I have only the 17mm or 19mm bolt. There's a slight slack with the 19mm ... My guess it shld be 18mm

Tax code?

Has anyone here in the USA been able to order these cartridges? When I try to do it on their website, they want a tax code and VAT. I've pinged them for an answer, but can't read Italian even if they reply.

Looks like they don't ship here. Is there a dealer that will?
