Andreani fork cartridge installed on Hyperstrada

Has anyone here in the USA been able to order these cartridges? When I try to do it on their website, they want a tax code and VAT. I've pinged them for an answer, but can't read Italian even if they reply.

Looks like they don't ship here. Is there a dealer that will?

Try Omni Racing in Italy - great price and service.

Andreani wont sell direct if there is a distributor in the USA

When I go to the Omnia website (spelling is important!) they show no cartridges for my 821, only an endless list of bling. In fact, the only Andreani cartridges they show are for a KTM.

What did you do, call them?

News flash: Finally found a reference to the USA distributor - it's Fast Bike Industries in North Carolina. Pricing request sent.

The 'kind of bad' news

$890 shipped to my door, which is 3000 miles away from North Carolina. Hmmm.

At today's 'rounded up' exchange rate that's $324 over Andreani's price, in Italy, exclusive of VAT. Anyone care to check what they cost in their location? Say, Canada? Just askin'....

I would call omnia racing. I can almost bet that they speak some english as it's more common than you think. I've always noticed dealers on the US side mark up prices on Italian moto stuff. That is why I order alot of stuff from Italy.

I couldn't find a phone number, but there's a email form on their website Contattaci - se hai bisogno di assistenza da Omnia Racing Special Parts - Per domande e richieste di

Hmm, that calcs out to US$700. Got a reply from Omnia today, too. Still a lot more than a trip to RaceTech (10 miles away). How are they working for you?

I just ordered a set from Fast Bike in NC.

2014 model, which has revised settings from last year and DLC coated fork shafts.

They said 2nd week of Jan.

Have you talked to Race Tech what did they have to say?

I called them a few months ago and they were fairly eager to see my forks - offered me a discount for being the guinea pig, too. Still thinking about it. I suspect that I could get some custom Gold Valves installed for a lot less than the Andreanis.

As I've posted before, I tend to get to a setting I like and leave it alone. So full adjustability is not all that important to me. And I've had excellent results from the kits they offer for conventional forks, have put them in just about every bike I've ever had with that type of fork.

Will follow up when I get that effing R6 off of my bench (sigh). Thing is a nightmare jigsaw puzzle compared to the Duc....nakeds rule.:D

I found the Hyperstrada front end a little harsh for my liking. Did some online searches and found this Andreani fork kit.

This is my first experience buying a Andreani-made fork component. Both the packaging and installation instructions were v good.

A local suspension shop helped with installation. The process took less than 3 hours with more time spent dismantling OEM fork sleeve.

Ride feel is a marked improvement over non-adjustable OEM shocks. Going over large speed bumps didn't send big jolt to handlebar. The recommended settings helps the HS hold a tight line. But on a bumpy road surfaces, it may be too edgy for my liking. Hence I backed off on the rebound and compression and waiting to test new settings later this week.

Hey Duke,

Did you have any issue's with the Andreani supplied springs being waaaaay to soft? I was told that they were sprung for 200lbs, but they are incredibly soft on mine. Under heavy breaking I can bottom the fork, and if I dare lift the front wheel.....ugh....it's so horrible sounding. The guy I purchased them from is working now trying to solve the issue. Even adjusting preload made no difference (besides sag of course).

Stock spring rate = .63 kg/mm
Racetech spring rate = .85 kg/mm (165 lb rider + 15 lb of gear)
Andreani spring rate = ???

Do I see a pattern here? For the money you should be able to get the rate you want. At least it's fairly easy to change springs - although the damping would need adjustment accordingly. Wonder if they have that much range...

I haven't got the details yet on what the Andreani came with but was told that I'm the first person to complain about them being under-sprung; everyone else says they often feel to stiff. So he's ordering another set of springs and once he receives mine back, I suppose he'll check the rate to see if my kit was messed up or the wrong ones were sent.

Do you know, are these springs often stamped or labeled with the rates on them?

I doubt they are marked, but it's not that hard to calculate the rate if you can measure them directly. You would need the wire diameter, length of stack, end condition (usually tapered and ground flat), and number of coils. No problem for any engineer, but most suspension shops have a press/scale to measure it.
