Gauging interest in Hyper Lights V2

haven't visited the forum in a while. my short review:

i've installed the V1 since january 2015. 10,000 plus kms later, it still turns my nights into day... at least the few hundred feet in front of the bike. the best part is, people hardly notice it's there 'til i start the motor

i've never been more satisfied with a product... and it's handmade in patrick's garage. it is apparent in the quality and i know it's such a cliche, that it's a "labor of love." :D that's just version 1. i'm sure version 2 is much more improved

Thanks for the positive feedback :) Glad to hear they're still working great for you. Gives me a sense of pride that they're across the planet still working well.

The new lights are still coming along... just slowly. Got side tracked with my bike stuck at the dealer for 3 weeks and then replacing my starter! But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Nice job

Hi Kuksul,

What your doing for us is a great job!

I think we don't encourage you enough alone in your garage.

Really thanks for this nice job.

I'm very impatient to ride in the light!

Marc

Oh trust me I really want to finish them too! Finding time in the garage is not easy, but I have a nice free weekend this week so I hope to make lots of progress.

Hey all,

Just want to let you know I have not forgotten about this. It has been hard finding time after work to get into the garage and machine parts. But... it's getting there. Truly sorry for the delay.

The only thing I can offer is a progress pic from tonight.

So, the lights are SUPER close!!! But I just crashed my bike and broke my hand last weekend. -_-

I'm totally dropping the ball here. Going to see what progress I can make with a casted hand in the next few weeks, bear with me.

Ah ****, sorry to hear about that kuksul! Glad it's just one hand, a pal at work came off recently after a pedestrian stepped out in front of him and broke both!

Was it involving a car? How'd the bike hold up?

Luckily, not on the hyper, it was my vstrom. It is not too bad but will probably be totaled because the value is pretty low. No car involved really, just hit some gravel.

AT least you're ok, and it wasn't worse. Take the time to recover if you need to.

AT least you're ok
That's always the main thing in this game. If you can still move around easily and type on a forum you know you're good. My first crash put me on crutches for a month - what a humbling experience - you never know how how easy it is just to move around until you lose the use of a whole foot for a month...

The little aches and stiffness that stay with you for months can be a ***** though.

Are you still accepting orders, kuksul08? If so, how much is involved with the install, electronics wise?
Thanks!

I haven't taken any orders yet, since I don't have anything yet to sell. But yes, I will as soon as I get the parts done. Haven't been able to do much in the garage since my accident. I get the pins out of my wrist in a few weeks though...!

The electrical install is pretty easy. I don't touch the stock wiring harness, cause I know how fragile these bikes are as far as that goes. So, you have a power cable that connect to the battery. And you have a signal cable that goes into the bottom of your headlight so that the lights turn on and go to high/low to match your headlight. I use a completely waterproof, fused harness with a nice connector. It requires drilling a small hole in your headlight, and a slightly larger hole in your front cowl support, just to provide clearance for the wire. You won't see any of the wires and it's totally OEM looking (or even better actually, considering ducati used SPLICE connectors in the factory wiring harness )

I am going to post up full instructions, features, and details once the first kit is done. This whole project has been quite the undertaking, but I think once I get the first 2-3 kits done, the next 20 will go much much quicker.

Thanks for your updates Kuksul. Sorry to hear about the gravel incident and I hope you are healing up ok!! all the best

taged i would love to know pricing and such.

I can't commit to pricing quite yet, but I can say I am working on the very last piece before paint. So they're getting there! I can't wait to finish the project and get it out there. I think you guys will be 100% happy with it when it's all said and done.

I am also a buyer, please let me know when & where to send money.

I hope your pin removal goes quickly, cleanly, and painlessly!
