Gauging interest in Hyper Lights V2

Kuksul, I've been following your build and I was just wondering if you had any updates on the finished prototype. I'm hoping to be able to set aside 600 ish for the lights by the time you're finished. will let you know.

Hey firegod, sorry I haven't provided many updates. I ran into a small issue with my circuit board layout and it set me back 2 more weeks since I need to order more boards. The good news is every other part of the project is finalized.

I plan to post up an entire build thread to show you guys how I make them, and some final production pictures. Right now it's looking like a few more weeks until I'm at that point. Once I make the first couple to test out, the rest should happen a lot more quickly.

The final product is going to be awesome and I'm very anxious to show it off.

Sorry to hear about the board issue. I'm very excited to see the build thread. will wait patently:D

Quick update for you all:

I received my paint and learned to airbrush yesterday, it looks really good. I also finished my bill of materials and ordered the last remaining parts. The design is complete and ready for machining!

I'm hoping to write the machining code this week and start cutting next weekend. IT'S ALMOST THERE!!!

Good news. Thanks for the update!
Quick question if you don't mind: Not sure if I missed any history reports in other threads regarding your previous generation version...
Have they proven to be reliable? Are existing units holding up to the elements and vibration?

Yep, no issues. I've put about 5,000 miles on mine and it's seen lots of bumpy roads and wheelies (on a closed course only), in both rain and shine. Two other members have them, and they haven't contacted me with any issues.

The only issue I had was a rubber washer I used started to get very tiny cracks in it after about 3-5 months. I learned that this is due to exposure to ozone, heat, and sunlight. Most common synthetic rubbers are made of NBR (nitrile, buna-N) or SBR (styrene-butadiene) which are prone to this if not protected with the correct additives. So that was a learning process. I am very confident in the new kit to be trouble-free in this regard. I am using viton and silicone rubbers only, which are very resilient, but at least 10X the cost.

Hey all,
Just so I don't go silent for too long... I'm going to cut metal this weekend. Have been writing machining code for everything at once, so I can do all the machining continuously.

Then it's just a matter of painting the parts and assembling, which is much much easier this time around.

Sorry to keep you waiting, I'm behind schedule but I think it's going to be worth the wait.

Are you set about your final price? And are you making some copy in extra? Ty!

Still have not decided on a final price, but in my original post I quoted around $600.

I plan on ultimately making about 25 sets.

Parts are coming right along...

Mate did you not see my review here?

These are like the best aftermarket part I have ever bought for any bike ever.

You can really feel the passion that's gone into making these.

Kuksul08, just a headsup, I will most probably sell my bike, so I have to skip this, sorry...
