Gauging interest in Hyper Lights V2

So... Any updates? Pics? Maybe I can buy peoples1234's place on the list? Just kidding:)

I just finished the latest circuit board, and received a shipment of LEDs on Friday. Now I just need to finalize the CAD and I'm ready to start fabricating!

Also, I've been trying to find a new paint for the housings. In the past I used a primerless epoxy paint made for guns that is great. However it's like $23 per can and only does 3 lights. And then it takes 7 days to cure fully. I'd like something more affordable and common I can do at home that doesn't require baking in the oven and stinking up my kitchen.

Have not been around in a while.
I'm still good to go on the lights !
Take your time with them......I'm hoping the CAN$ gets better before I purchase them![emoji12]
Cheers
B

I'm not in the market just yet but can these lights be set up to work off a toggle switch rather then tethered to the headlights?

Yes absolutely. Just need to provide 0V and 12V for each signal. A 3 position toggle switch could easily do this. I personally like having it integrated into my handlebar switch to be able to quickly turn them off if a car is coming!

Quick update for you all. I'm still actively working on these. I ordered more components this week and I'm trying to finalize a few details still. Sorry for the delay! I want to make sure they're perfect and you guys are 100% happy with them.

Hello kuksul08,
Just newly registered to this site for your product. I have been looking for aux lights since i got my bike but never found a kit that practically and esthetically suits the bike. One day someone posted few pics on fb group and then...wow I want this kit.

please put me in your list. I want one like this:)

Sure!

Was there a discussion about lighting or just a picture? Thank you.

Don't remember exactly if there was any specific discussion or not but it referred to this website. Some said they wanted to make a kit themself.
When would you finish the kit? How much it would cost? What concerned me is also that would you ship it oversea?

Have nice day.

I will post pricing as soon as I figure out my final costs. I have quoted the $600 range in the past.

I'm hoping to finish the kit soon. A few weeks until I start seeing parts.

I can ship it overseas no problem, I just make sure it has tracking info. Costs a little more but not too bad. The only thing is if you have a tax on incoming products, it can increase your cost (such as in the UK).

Kuksul, on that expensive paint... I would pay an extra $10-15 to get the best paint you can get... maybe since you need more volume this time you can get a better deal on it from a distributor, or maybe even get a paint shop do use the good stuff from a bulk container, instead of rattle cans....

You make a good paint... point...

I thought to anodize them... but then the screws will not match the same shade of black. I will surely find something suitable and the end result will be pro.

Good news - I just ordered the final circuit board version! It looks so damn good, I cannot wait to show off the kit. This thing is finally coming together :) :)

I don't know if methods have improved, but I have seen a lot of black anodization turn purple after some sunlight exposure...

That's when they use organic dye. A proper dye will last for a LONG time without discoloring.

So I decided to go back to my classic coating. It's the most expensive and labor intensive - requires a spray gun and baking, but it is the BEST coating imaginable. I will post more details later.

Question for you guys - so far I have defaulted to black for the lights, for stealth and matching the bike. Do you prefer a different color? I can get almost any color: gray, red, tan, blue, turquoise, white, etc... with varying levels of gloss, satin, or matte. I will probably start with black, but if there is demand I will order another color too! I thought about making the bracket red to match the frame, but it would have to be an exact match or it would look bad.

Now to learn how to use a paint sprayer.

Kuksul, I've been following your build and I was just wondering if you had any updates on the finished prototype. I'm hoping to be able to set aside 600 ish for the lights by the time you're finished. will let you know.
